\v 3 \w sabiendo\w* \w que\w* \w la\w* \w prueba\w* \w de\w* \w su\w* \w fe\w* \w produce\w* \w paciencia\w*. 
\v 4 Dejen \w que\w* \w la\w* \w paciencia\w* \w tenga\w* \w su\w* \w obra\w* \w perfecta\w*, \w para\w* \w que\w* sean \w perfectos\w* \w y\w* \w cabales\w*, \w sin\w* \w que\w* les \w falte\w* \w nada\w*.

\v 7 \w Porque\w* ese hombre \w no\w* debe pensar \w que\w* \w recibirá\w* \w algo\w* \w del\w* \w Señor\w*. 
\v 8 Es \w un\w* hombre \w de\w* doble ánimo, inestable \w en\w* \w todos\w* \w sus\w* \w caminos\w*.

\v 9 \w Que\w* \w el\w* hermano \w de\w* condición \w humilde\w* se \w gloríe\w* \w en\w* \w su\w* alta posición;

\v 15 \w Entonces\w* \w el\w* \w deseo\w*, cuando ha concebido, da \w a\w* luz \w el\w* pecado. \w El\w* pecado, cuando se ha desarrollado, \w produce\w* \w la\w* \w muerte\w*.

\v 18 \w Por\w* \w su\w* propia voluntad \w él\w* nos hizo nacer mediante \w la\w* \w palabra\w* \w de\w* \w la\w* verdad, \w para\w* \w que\w* seamos \w como\w* \w las\w* primicias \w de\w* \w sus\w* \w criaturas\w*.

\v 2 \w Porque\w* \w si\w* \w entra\w* \w en\w* su \w congregación\w* \w un\w* hombre \w con\w* \w un\w* anillo \w de\w* oro \w y\w* \w vestido\w* \w con\w* \w ropa\w* fina, \w y\w* \w entra\w* \w también\w* \w un\w* \w pobre\w* \w vestido\w* \w con\w* \w ropa\w* sucia,

\v 5 Escuchen, mis queridos hermanos. ¿\w No\w* ha elegido \w Dios\w* \w a\w* \w los\w* \w pobres\w* \w de\w* \w este\w* \w mundo\w* \w para\w* \w que\w* sean \w ricos\w* \w en\w* \w la\w* \w fe\w* \w y\w* \w herederos\w* \w del\w* Reino \w que\w* \w prometió\w* \w a\w* \w los\w* \w que\w* \w lo\w* aman? 
\v 6 \w Pero\w* ustedes han deshonrado \w al\w* \w pobre\w*. ¿\w No\w* son \w los\w* \w ricos\w* quienes \w los\w* \w oprimen\w* \w a\w* ustedes \w y\w* \w los\w* \w arrastran\w* ante \w los\w* tribunales? 
\v 7 ¿\w No\w* blasfeman \w ellos\w* \w el\w* \w buen\w* \w nombre\w* \w que\w* fue invocado \w sobre\w* ustedes?

\v 8 Sin embargo, \w si\w* cumplen \w la\w* \w ley\w* real \w según\w* \w la\w* \w Escritura\w*: “Amarás \w a\w* \w tu\w* \w prójimo\w* \w como\w* \w a\w* \w ti\w* mismo”, \w hacen\w* \w bien\w*. 
\v 9 \w Pero\w* \w si\w* muestran favoritismo, cometen pecado \w y\w* \w son\w* condenados \w por\w* \w la\w* \w ley\w* \w como\w* \w transgresores\w*. 
\v 10 \w Porque\w* \w el\w* \w que\w* \w guarda\w* \w toda\w* \w la\w* \w ley\w* \w pero\w* tropieza \w en\w* \w un\w* \w solo\w* punto, \w se\w* hace culpable \w de\w* \w todos\w*. 
\v 11 \w Porque\w* \w el\w* \w que\w* \w dijo\w*: “\w No\w* cometas adulterio”, \w también\w* \w dijo\w*: “\w No\w* cometas homicidio”. \w Ahora\w* \w bien\w*, \w si\w* \w no\w* cometes adulterio \w pero\w* cometes homicidio, te has convertido \w en\w* \w transgresor\w* \w de\w* \w la\w* \w ley\w*. 
\v 12 \w Así\w* \w pues\w*, \w hablen\w* \w y\w* actúen \w como\w* quienes van \w a\w* ser juzgados \w por\w* la \w ley\w* \w de\w* la \w libertad\w*. 
\v 13 \w Porque\w* \w el\w* \w juicio\w* será \w sin\w* \w misericordia\w* \w para\w* \w el\w* \w que\w* \w no\w* ha mostrado \w misericordia\w*. \w La\w* \w misericordia\w* triunfa sobre \w el\w* \w juicio\w*.

\v 14 ¿\w De\w* \w qué\w* sirve, hermanos míos, \w que\w* \w alguien\w* diga \w que\w* \w tiene\w* \w fe\w*, \w si\w* \w no\w* \w tiene\w* \w obras\w*? ¿\w Acaso\w* esa \w fe\w* \w puede\w* salvarlo? 
\v 15 \w Y\w* \w si\w* \w un\w* hermano \w o\w* \w una\w* hermana \w están\w* \w sin\w* ropa \w y\w* les \w falta\w* \w el\w* \w alimento\w* diario, 
\v 16 \w y\w* \w uno\w* \w de\w* ustedes les \w dice\w*: “Vayan \w en\w* \w paz\w*, caliéntense \w y\w* sáciense”, \w pero\w* \w no\w* les dan \w lo\w* necesario \w para\w* \w el\w* \w cuerpo\w*, ¿\w de\w* \w qué\w* sirve? 
\v 17 \w Así\w* \w también\w* \w la\w* \w fe\w*, \w si\w* \w no\w* va acompañada \w de\w* \w obras\w*, \w está\w* \w muerta\w*. 
\v 18 Pero \w alguien\w* \w dirá\w*: “\w Tú\w* \w tienes\w* \w fe\w*, \w y\w* \w yo\w* \w tengo\w* \w obras\w*”. \w Muéstrame\w* \w tu\w* \w fe\w* \w sin\w* \w obras\w*, \w y\w* \w yo\w* \w te\w* \w mostraré\w* \w mi\w* \w fe\w* \w por\w* mis \w obras\w*.

\v 19 \w Tú\w* \w crees\w* \w que\w* \w Dios\w* es \w uno\w*. \w Haces\w* \w bien\w*. \w También\w* \w los\w* \w demonios\w* \w creen\w*, \w y\w* \w tiemblan\w*. 
\v 20 ¿\w Pero\w* \w quieres\w* \w saber\w*, hombre \w vano\w*, \w que\w* \w la\w* \w fe\w* \w sin\w* \w obras\w* \w está\w* muerta?

\v 23 \w Y\w* \w se\w* \w cumplió\w* \w la\w* \w Escritura\w* \w que\w* \w dice\w*: “Abraham \w le\w* \w creyó\w* \w a\w* \w Dios\w*, \w y\w* \w le\w* fue contado \w por\w* \w justicia\w*”, \w y\w* fue \w llamado\w* \w amigo\w* \w de\w* \w Dios\w*. 
\v 24 Ven, \w pues\w*, \w que\w* \w el\w* hombre \w es\w* \w justificado\w* \w por\w* \w las\w* \w obras\w*, \w y\w* \w no\w* \w solamente\w* \w por\w* \w la\w* \w fe\w*. 
\v 25 \w Del\w* mismo modo, ¿\w no\w* fue \w también\w* justificada \w por\w* \w las\w* \w obras\w* \w Rahab\w*, \w la\w* prostituta, cuando \w recibió\w* \w a\w* \w los\w* mensajeros \w y\w* \w los\w* hizo salir \w por\w* \w otro\w* \w camino\w*? 
\v 26 \w Porque\w* \w así\w* \w como\w* \w el\w* \w cuerpo\w* \w sin\w* \w el\w* \w espíritu\w* \w está\w* \w muerto\w*, \w así\w* \w también\w* \w la\w* \w fe\w* \w sin\w* \w obras\w* \w está\w* \w muerta\w*.

\v 1 Hermanos míos, \w que\w* \w no\w* \w haya\w* \w muchos\w* \w maestros\w* entre ustedes, \w sabiendo\w* \w que\w* \w recibiremos\w* un \w juicio\w* \w más\w* severo. 
\v 2 \w Porque\w* todos tropezamos \w de\w* \w muchas\w* maneras. \w Si\w* \w alguien\w* \w no\w* tropieza \w en\w* \w lo\w* \w que\w* dice, \w es\w* \w una\w* persona madura, capaz \w de\w* refrenar \w también\w* \w todo\w* \w su\w* \w cuerpo\w*. 
\v 3 Cuando ponemos \w frenos\w* \w en\w* \w la\w* \w boca\w* \w de\w* \w los\w* \w caballos\w* \w para\w* \w que\w* \w nos\w* \w obedezcan\w*, podemos controlar \w todo\w* \w su\w* \w cuerpo\w*. 
\v 4 Fíjense \w también\w* \w en\w* \w los\w* \w barcos\w*, \w aunque\w* \w son\w* tan grandes \w y\w* \w son\w* impulsados \w por\w* vientos fuertes, \w son\w* guiados \w por\w* \w un\w* \w timón\w* muy pequeño hacia \w donde\w* \w el\w* piloto \w quiere\w*. 
\v 5 \w Así\w* \w también\w* \w la\w* \w lengua\w* es \w un\w* \w miembro\w* \w pequeño\w*, \w y\w* \w se\w* jacta \w de\w* \w grandes\w* cosas. Miren \w cómo\w* \w un\w* \w pequeño\w* \w fuego\w* puede incendiar \w un\w* \w gran\w* \w bosque\w*. 
\v 6 \w Y\w* \w la\w* \w lengua\w* es \w un\w* \w fuego\w*, \w un\w* \w mundo\w* \w de\w* maldad. \w La\w* \w lengua\w* \w está\w* puesta \w entre\w* nuestros \w miembros\w*, contamina \w todo\w* \w el\w* \w cuerpo\w*, incendia \w el\w* curso \w de\w* \w nuestra\w* vida, \w y\w* es incendiada \w por\w* \w el\w* \w infierno\w*. 
\v 7 \w Porque\w* \w toda\w* clase \w de\w* animales, \w aves\w*, \w reptiles\w* \w y\w* criaturas marinas \w se\w* pueden \w domar\w*, \w y\w* han sido domados \w por\w* \w el\w* ser humano; 
\v 8 \w pero\w* \w nadie\w* \w puede\w* \w domar\w* \w la\w* \w lengua\w*. Es \w un\w* \w mal\w* inquieto, \w lleno\w* \w de\w* \w veneno\w* \w mortal\w*. 
\v 9 \w Con\w* \w ella\w* \w bendecimos\w* \w a\w* \w nuestro\w* \w Dios\w* \w y\w* \w Padre\w*, \w y\w* \w con\w* \w ella\w* \w maldecimos\w* \w a\w* \w los\w* hombres \w que\w* \w están\w* \w hechos\w* \w a\w* imagen \w de\w* \w Dios\w*. 
\v 10 \w De\w* \w la\w* misma \w boca\w* \w salen\w* \w bendiciones\w* \w y\w* maldiciones. Hermanos míos, \w esto\w* \w no\w* debe \w ser\w* \w así\w*. 
\v 11 ¿Acaso \w de\w* \w un\w* mismo manantial brota agua \w dulce\w* \w y\w* \w amarga\w* \w por\w* \w la\w* misma \w abertura\w*? 
\v 12 ¿\w Acaso\w* una \w higuera\w*, hermanos míos, \w puede\w* dar \w aceitunas\w*, \w o\w* una vid dar \w higos\w*? Así tampoco ningún manantial \w puede\w* dar \w agua\w* salada \w y\w* \w dulce\w*.

\v 13 ¿\w Quién\w* es \w sabio\w* \w y\w* entendido \w entre\w* ustedes? \w Que\w* \w lo\w* demuestre \w con\w* \w su\w* \w buena\w* conducta \w y\w* \w con\w* \w obras\w* hechas \w con\w* \w la\w* humildad \w que\w* da \w la\w* \w sabiduría\w*. 
\v 14 \w Pero\w* \w si\w* \w tienen\w* \w celos\w* amargos \w y\w* ambición egoísta \w en\w* \w su\w* \w corazón\w*, \w no\w* \w se\w* jacten \w ni\w* mientan \w contra\w* \w la\w* verdad. 
\v 15 \w Esta\w* \w sabiduría\w* \w no\w* \w es\w* \w la\w* \w que\w* desciende \w de\w* \w lo\w* alto, sino \w que\w* \w es\w* terrenal, puramente humana \w y\w* \w diabólica\w*. 
\v 16 \w Porque\w* \w donde\w* hay \w celos\w* \w y\w* ambición egoísta, \w allí\w* hay confusión \w y\w* \w toda\w* clase de maldad. 
\v 17 \w Pero\w* \w la\w* \w sabiduría\w* \w que\w* viene \w de\w* arriba es, \w ante\w* todo, pura; \w y\w* \w además\w* \w pacífica\w*, amable, dócil, \w llena\w* \w de\w* compasión \w y\w* \w de\w* buenos \w frutos\w*, imparcial \w y\w* sincera. 
\v 18 \w Y\w* \w el\w* \w fruto\w* \w de\w* \w la\w* \w justicia\w* se \w siembra\w* \w en\w* \w paz\w* \w para\w* \w los\w* \w que\w* promueven \w la\w* \w paz\w*.

\v 1 ¿\w De\w* \w dónde\w* vienen \w las\w* \w guerras\w* \w y\w* \w las\w* peleas \w entre\w* ustedes? ¿Acaso \w no\w* provienen \w de\w* \w sus\w* propios malos deseos \w que\w* combaten \w en\w* \w sus\w* \w miembros\w*? 
\v 2 Codician, \w y\w* \w no\w* \w tienen\w*. Asesinan \w y\w* arden \w de\w* envidia, \w pero\w* \w no\w* \w pueden\w* obtener. Pelean \w y\w* \w se\w* hacen \w la\w* guerra. \w No\w* \w tienen\w*, \w porque\w* \w no\w* piden. 
\v 3 Piden, \w y\w* \w no\w* reciben, \w porque\w* piden \w con\w* malos motivos, \w para\w* gastarlo \w en\w* \w sus\w* propios placeres. 
\v 4 ¡Gente infiel! ¿\w No\w* \w saben\w* \w que\w* \w la\w* \w amistad\w* \w con\w* \w el\w* \w mundo\w* \w es\w* \w enemistad\w* \w con\w* \w Dios\w*? \w Por\w* eso, \w cualquiera\w* \w que\w* decide ser \w amigo\w* \w del\w* \w mundo\w* \w se\w* vuelve \w enemigo\w* \w de\w* \w Dios\w*. 
\v 5 ¿\w O\w* \w piensan\w* \w que\w* \w la\w* \w Escritura\w* \w dice\w* \w en\w* vano: “\w El\w* \w Espíritu\w* \w que\w* \w él\w* ha hecho morar \w en\w* \w nosotros\w* nos anhela celosamente”? 
\v 6 \w Pero\w* \w él\w* \w nos\w* \w da\w* \w mayor\w* \w gracia\w*. \w Por\w* eso \w dice\w*: “\w Dios\w* se opone \w a\w* \w los\w* orgullosos, \w pero\w* \w da\w* \w gracia\w* \w a\w* \w los\w* \w humildes\w*”. 
\v 7 Sométanse, \w pues\w*, \w a\w* \w Dios\w*. Resistan \w al\w* \w diablo\w*, \w y\w* \w él\w* \w huirá\w* \w de\w* ustedes. 
\v 8 Acérquense a \w Dios\w*, \w y\w* \w él\w* \w se\w* acercará a ustedes. Limpien \w sus\w* \w manos\w*, pecadores; \w y\w* ustedes, \w los\w* \w de\w* doble ánimo, purifiquen \w sus\w* \w corazones\w*. 
\v 9 Laméntense, aflíjanse \w y\w* lloren. \w Que\w* \w su\w* \w risa\w* \w se\w* convierta \w en\w* \w llanto\w* \w y\w* \w su\w* \w alegría\w* \w en\w* \w tristeza\w*. 
\v 10 Humíllense ante el \w Señor\w*, \w y\w* él \w los\w* exaltará.
