\v 3 Hear ye. Lo! a man sowing goeth out to sow, \add [or Lo! a sower went out to sow]\add*.

\v 19 for it hath not entered into his heart, but into the womb, and beneath it goeth out, purging all meats \sls (or cleaning out all the food)\sls*.

\v 20 But he said, The things that go out of a man, those defoul a man \sls (or these defile a person)\sls*.

\v 21 For from within, of the heart of men come forth evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, manslayings,

\v 24 And Jesus rose up from thence, and went into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. \v 25 For a woman, anon as she heard of him \sls (or as soon as she heard about him)\sls*, whose daughter had an unclean spirit, entered, and fell down at his feet.

\v 26 And the woman was \sls (a)\sls* heathen, of the generation of Syrophenician. And she prayed him, that he would cast out a devil from her daughter, \sls (or And she beseeched him, that he would throw a demon out of her daughter)\sls*.
\p
\v 27 And he said to her, Suffer thou \sls (or Allow)\sls* that the children be fulfilled first \add [or Suffer thou that the sons be filled first]\add*; for it is not good to take the bread of children, and give \add [it]\add* to hounds.

\v 28 And she answered, and said to him, Yes, Lord; for little whelps eat under the board of the crumbs of \sls (the)\sls* children. \sls (And she answered him, Yes, Lord; but even little pups can eat the crumbs of the children under the table.)\sls*

\v 29 And Jesus said to her, Go thou, for this word the fiend \sls (or the demon)\sls* went out of thy daughter.

\v 30 And when she was gone into her house home \add [or And when she had gone home/And when she had gone into her house]\add*, she found the damsel lying on the bed, and the devil gone out from her. \sls (And when she went home, she found the young girl lying on the bed, and the demon had gone out of her.)\sls*

\v 31 And again Jesus went out from the coasts of Tyre, and came through Sidon to the sea of Galilee, between the middle of the coasts of Decapolis.

\v 32 And they bring to him a man deaf and dumb, and prayed him to lay his hand/s on him.

\v 33 And he took him aside from the people, and put his fingers into his ears; and he spat, and touched his tongue.

\v 34 And he beheld into heaven, and sorrowed within, and said \add [to him]\add*, Ephphatha, that is, Be thou opened.

\v 35 And anon \sls (or at once)\sls* his ears were opened, and the band of his tongue was unbound, and he spake rightly.

\v 36 And he commanded to them, that they should say to no man; but how much he commanded to them, so much the more they preached,

\v 1 In those days, when much people was with Jesus, and had not what they should eat, when his disciples were called together, he said to them,

\v 2 I have ruth on the people, for lo! now the third day they abide me, and they have not what to eat; \sls (I have compassion for the people, for behold! now it is the third day that they be with me, and they have nothing to eat;)\sls*

\v 3 and if I leave them fasting into their houses, they shall fail in the way; for some of them came from \sls (a)\sls*far. \sls (and if I let them go fasting unto their houses, they shall faint on the way; for some of them came from afar.)\sls*

\v 4 And his disciples answered to him, Whereof shall a man be able to fill them with loaves here in \sls (the)\sls* wilderness?

\v 5 And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? Which said, Seven.

\v 28 Which answered to him, and said, Some \em say\em*, John \sls (the)\sls* Baptist; others \em say\em*, Elias \sls (or Elijah)\sls*; and others \em say\em*, as one of the prophets.

\v 29 Then he saith to them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answered, and said to him, Thou art Christ \sls (or Thou art the Messiah)\sls*.

\v 30 And he charged them, that they should not say of him to any man. \sls (And he commanded them, that they should not say this about him to anyone.)\sls*

\v 31 And he began to teach them, that it behooveth man’s Son to suffer many things, and to be reproved of the elder men, and of the highest priests, and of the scribes, \sls (or and to be rejected by the elders, and by the high priests, and by the scribes)\sls*, and to be slain, and after three days, to rise again.

\v 32 And he spake openly the word. \v 36 For what profiteth it to a man, if he win all the world, and do impairing to his \add [own]\add* soul?

\v 38 But who that acknowledgeth me and my words, in this generation adulterous and sinful \sls (or in this sinful and adulterous generation)\sls*, also man’s Son shall acknowledge him, when he shall come in the glory of his Father, with his angels.

\v 1 And he said to them, Truly I say to you, that there be some men standing here, which shall not taste death, till they see the realm of God coming in virtue. \sls (And he said to them, I tell you the truth, that there be some standing here now, who shall not taste death, before they see the Kingdom of God coming in power, or coming with power.)\sls*

\v 2 And after six days Jesus took Peter, and James, and John, and led them by themselves alone into an high hill, \sls (or and led only them up onto a high hill, or a mountain)\sls*; and he was transfigured before them.

\v 3 And his clothes were made full shining and \sls (as)\sls* white as snow, which manner white clothes a fuller may not make on \sls (the)\sls* earth.

\v 5 And Peter answered, and said to Jesus, Master, it is good \sls (for)\sls* us to be here; and make we here three tabernacles, one to thee, one to Moses, and one to Elias. \sls (And Peter said to Jesus, Teacher, it is good for us to be here; and we shall make here three tents, or three tabernacles, one for thee, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.)\sls*

\v 6 For he knew not what he should say; for they were aghast by dread \add [or for they were afeared by dread]\add*.

\v 7 And there was made a cloud overshadowing them; and a voice came out of the cloud, and said, This is my most dearworthy Son, hear ye him \sls (or listen to him)\sls*.

\v 14 And he coming to his disciples, saw a great company about them, and \add [the]\add* scribes disputing with them.

\v 16 And he asked them, What \sls (thing)\sls* dispute ye among you?

\v 17 And one of the company answered, and said, Master, \sls (or Teacher)\sls*, I have brought to thee my son, that hath a dumb spirit;

\v 18 and wherever he taketh him, he hurtleth him down, and he foameth, and beateth together with \sls (his)\sls* teeth, and waxeth dry \sls (or and then groweth dry)\sls*. And I said to thy disciples, that they should cast him out, and they might not.
\p
\v 19 And he answered to them, and said, A! thou generation out of belief, \add [or O! thou generation unbelieveful]\add*, \sls (or O thou unbelieving, or unfaithful, generation!)\sls*, how long shall I be among you, how long shall I suffer you? Bring ye him to me.
\p
\v 20 And they brought him. And when he had seen him, anon the spirit troubled him \sls (or at once the spirit troubled him)\sls*; and he was thrown down to the ground, and wallowed, and foamed.

\v 21 And he asked his father, How long is it, since this hath befallen to him? And he said, From childhood;
\p
\v 22 and oft he hath put him into the fire, and into water, to lose him \sls (or to destroy him)\sls*; but if thou mayest \sls (do)\sls* anything, help us, and have mercy on us.
\p
\v 23 And Jesus said to him, If thou mayest believe \sls (or If thou can believe)\sls*, all things be possible to a man that believeth.

\v 24 And anon \sls (or And at once)\sls* the father of the child cried with tears, and said, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

\v 25 And when Jesus had seen the people running together, he menaced the unclean spirit \sls (or he threatened the unclean spirit)\sls*, and said to him, Thou deaf and dumb spirit, I command thee, go out from him, and enter no more into him.

\v 26 And he crying, and much wrenching him, went out from him; and he was made as dead, so that many said, that he was dead.

\v 27 And Jesus held his hand, and lifted him up; and he rose.

\v 28 And when he had entered into an house, his disciples asked him privily, Why might not we cast him out? \sls (And when he had entered into a house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could we not throw him out?)\sls*

\v 29 And he said to them, This kind in nothing may go out \add [or This kind may not go out in anything]\add*, \add [no]\add* but in prayer and fasting. \sls (And he said to them, This kind cannot be made to go out, except by prayer and fasting.)\sls*

\v 31 And he taught his disciples, and said to them, For man’s Son shall be betrayed into the hands of men, and they shall slay him, and he slain shall rise again on the third day.

\v 33 And they came to Capernaum. And when they were in the house, he asked them, What treated ye in the way? \sls (or What did ye discuss on the way?)\sls*

\v 34 And they were still; for they disputed among them\add [selves]\add* in the way, who of them should be \add [the]\add* greatest. \sls (And they were silent; for they had argued among themselves on the way, who of them was the greatest.)\sls*

\v 35 And he sat, and called the twelve, and said to them, If any man will be the first among you, he shall be the last of all, and the minister \add [or the servant]\add* of all.

\v 36 And he took a child, and set him in the middle \add [or in the midst]\add* of them; and when he had embraced him, he said to them,

\v 37 Whoever receiveth one of such children in my name, he receiveth me; and whoever receiveth me, he receiveth not me alone, but him that sent me.

\v 38 John answered to him, and said, Master, we saw one casting out fiends in thy name, which \sls (pur)\sls*sueth not us, and we have forbidden him. \sls (John answered to him, and said, Teacher, we saw one throwing out devils and demons in thy name, and he followeth not us, and we have forbidden him.)\sls*

\v 39 And Jesus said, Do not ye forbid him; for there is no man that doeth virtue in my name, and may soon speak evil of me. \sls (And Jesus said, Do not forbid him; for there is no one who doeth a work of power, or a miracle, in my name, and can soon after speak evil about me.)\sls*

\v 40 He that is not against us, is for us.
\p
\v 41 And whoever giveth \add [to]\add* you \sls (even)\sls* a cup of cold water to drink in my name, for ye be of Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his meed. \sls (And whoever giveth to you even just a cup of cold water to drink in my name, for ye belong to the Messiah, I tell you the truth, he shall not lose his reward.)\sls*

\v 42 And whoever shall cause to stumble one of these little \sls (ones)\sls* that believe in me, it were better to him that a millstone were done about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. \sls (And whoever shall cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone was put around his neck, and he was thrown into the sea.)\sls*

\v 43 And if thine hand cause thee to stumble, cut it away; it is better to thee to enter feeble into life, \sls (or it is better for thee to enter into (eternal)\sls* life weak, or maimed), than \sls (to)\sls* have two hands, and \sls (to)\sls* go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched \add [or into \+sls (the)\+sls* fire unquenchable]\add*,

\v 44 where the worm of them dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

\v 5 And Jesus answered, and said to them, For the hardness of your heart\sls (s)\sls* Moses wrote to you this commandment \add [or this precept]\add*.

\v 6 But from the beginning of creature\sls (s)\sls*, \sls (or But from the beginning of Creation)\sls*, God made them male and female;

\v 61 But he was still, and answered nothing. Again the highest priest asked him, and said to him, Art thou Christ, the Son of the blessed God? \sls (or Again the High Priest asked him, Art thou the Messiah, the Son of the blessed God?)\sls*

\v 41 And when Jesus was in Galilee, they followed him, and ministered to him \sls (or and served him)\sls*, and many other \em women\em*, that came up together with him to Jerusalem.

\v 42 And when the eventide was come, for it was the eventide that is before the sabbath, \sls (And when it was evening, and so the day before the Sabbath,)\sls*

\v 43 Joseph of Arimathaea, the noble decurion, came, and he abode the realm of God \sls (or and he was waiting for the Kingdom of God)\sls*; and boldly he entered to Pilate, and asked \sls (for)\sls* the body of Jesus.

\v 44 But Pilate wondered, if he were now dead. And when the centurion was called, he asked him, if he were \add [now]\add* dead; \sls (But Pilate wondered, if he was already dead. And when the centurion was called, he asked him, if he was already dead;)\sls*

\v 45 and when he knew of the centurion, he granted the body of Jesus to Joseph \add [or he gave the body of Jesus to Joseph]\add*. \sls (and when he knew this from the centurion, he gave Joseph permission to take down Jesus’ body.)\sls*

\v 1 And when the sabbath was passed, Mary Magdalene, and Mary of James, and Salome bought sweet smelling ointments, to come and to anoint Jesus.

\v 2 And full early in one of the week days \sls (or And very early on the first day of the week)\sls*, they came to the sepulchre, when the sun was risen.

\v 3 And they said together, Who shall move away to us the stone from the door of the sepulchre? \add [or Who shall turn away to us the stone from the door of the sepulchre?]\add*\sls (And as they arrived they said to each other, Who shall move away the stone from the door of the tomb for us? For the stone was very large and very heavy.)\sls*

\v 4 And they beheld, and saw the stone wallowed away, for it was full great. \sls (But when they looked, they saw that the stone had already been rolled away.)\sls*

\v 5 And they went into the sepulchre, and saw a youngling, covered with a white stole, sitting at the right half; and they were afeared. \sls (And they went into the tomb, and saw a young person, clothed in a white stole, sitting on the right side; and they were afraid.)\sls*

\v 6 Which saith to them, Do not ye dread; ye seek Jesus of Nazareth crucified, \sls (or But he said to them, Do not fear; ye seek Jesus of Nazareth who was crucified)\sls*; he is risen, he is not here; lo! the place where they laid him.

\v 7 But go ye, and say to his disciples, and to Peter, that he shall go before you into Galilee; there ye shall see him, as he said to you.

\v 8 And they went out, and fled from the sepulchre; for dread and quaking had assailed them \add [or for dread and trembling had assailed them]\add*, and to no man they said anything, for they dreaded. \sls (And they went out, and fled from the tomb; for fear and trembling had assailed them, but they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.)\sls*

\v 9 And Jesus rose early the first day of the week, and appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven devils \sls (or from whom he had thrown out seven demons)\sls*.

\v 10 And she went, and told to them that had been with him, \em which were\em*\sls (or who were)\sls* wailing and weeping \add [or mourning and weeping]\add*.

\v 11 And they hearing that he lived, and was seen of her \sls (or and was seen by her)\sls*, believed not.

\v 12 But after these things when twain of them wandered \sls (or were walking)\sls*, he was showed in another likeness to them going into a town. \add [+Forsooth after these things, he was showed in another likeness, or figure, to twain of them walking and going into a town.]\add*

\v 13 And they went, and told to the others, and neither they believed to them.

\v 14 But after\sls (ward)\sls* at the last, when the eleven sat at the meat, Jesus appeared to them, and reproved the unbelief of them, and the hardness of \sls (their)\sls* heart\sls (s)\sls*, for they believed not to them, that had seen that he was risen from death \add [or that had seen him to have risen from \+sls (the)\+sls* dead]\add*. \sls (But later, when the Eleven sat at a meal, Jesus appeared to them, and rebuked them for their unbelief, and for the hardness or the stubbornness of their hearts, for they did not believe those, who had seen that he was risen from the dead.)\sls*

\v 15 And he said to them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to each creature. \sls (And he said to them, Go into all the world, and preach the Gospel, or the Good News, to all Creation, or to everyone.)\sls*

\v 16 Who that believeth, and is baptized, shall be safe \sls (or shall be saved)\sls*; but he that believeth not, shall be condemned. \add [+He that shall believe, and shall be christened, shall be saved; soothly he that shall not believe, shall be damned.]\add*

\v 17 And these tokens \add [or these signs]\add* shall \sls (pur)\sls*sue them, that believe. In my name they shall cast out fiends; they shall speak with new tongues; \sls (And these signs shall follow those who believe. In my name they shall throw out devils and demons; they shall speak in new and strange languages;)\sls*

\v 18 they shall do away serpents; and if they drink any venom, \add [or \+sls (any)\+sls* deadly thing]\add*, it shall not annoy \sls (or shall not harm)\sls* them. They shall set their hands on sick men, and they shall wax whole, \sls (or They shall put their hands on the sick, and they shall grow whole, or they shall be healed)\sls*.

\v 19 And the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and he sitteth on the right half of God \sls (or and he sitteth at the right hand, or on the right side, of God)\sls*.

\v 20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, for the Lord wrought \add [or working]\add* with them, and confirmed the word with signs, \add [either miracles]\add*, following.
