\v 29 and I say to you, that Solomon in all his glory was not covered as one of these.

\v 5 Hypocrite, first do out the beam of thine eye/do thou out first the beam of thine own eye, and then thou shalt see to do out the mote of the eye of thy brother.

\v 7 Ask ye, and it shall be given to you; seek ye, and ye shall find; knock ye, and it shall be opened to you.

\v 24 Therefore every man that heareth these my words, and doeth them, shall be made like to a wise man, that hath builded his house on a stone.

\v 25 And rain came down, and floods came, and winds blew, and rushed into that house; and it felled not down, for it was founded on a stone.

\v 26 And every man that heareth these my words, and doeth them not, is like a fool, that hath builded his house on gravel \add [or on sand]\add*.

\v 4 And Jesus said to him, See, say thou to no man; but go, show thee to the priests, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, in witnessing to them \sls (or as a testimony to them)\sls*.

\v 5 And when he had entered into Capernaum, the centurion nighed to him, and prayed him, \sls (And when he entered into Capernaum, a centurion came up to him, and beseeched him,)\sls*

\v 11 And I say to you, that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall rest with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heavens;

\v 12 but the sons of the realm shall be cast out into outer-more \add [or uttermost]\add* darknesses; there shall be weeping, and grinding of teeth.
\p
\v 13 And Jesus said to the centurion, Go, and as thou hast believed, be it done to thee. And the child was healed from that hour, \sls (or And the servant was healed from that hour, or at that moment)\sls*.

\v 29 And lo! they cried, and said, What to us and to thee, Jesus, the Son of God? art thou come hither before the time to torment us?

\v 30 And not far from them was a flock of many swine \add [or a drove of many hogs]\add* pasturing. \sls (And not far from them was a herd of many pigs at pasture.)\sls*

\v 31 And the devils prayed him, and said, If thou castest out us from hence, send us into the drove of swine \add [or into the drove of hogs]\add*. \sls (And the demons beseeched him, and said, If thou throwest us out of here, then send us into that herd of pigs.)\sls*

\v 32 And he said to them, Go ye. \v 5 What is lighter to say \sls (or What is easier to say)\sls*, Thy sins be forgiven to thee, either to say, Rise thou, and walk?

\v 16 But to whom shall I guess this generation like? It is like to children sitting in the chapping \sls (or at the market)\sls*, that cry to their peers,

\v 17 and say, We have sung to you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wailed.

\v 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He hath a devil.

\v 19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Lo! a man a glutton, and a drinker of wine, and a friend of publicans and of sinful men. And wisdom is justified of her sons \sls (or And wisdom is proved right by its results)\sls*.

\v 20 Then Jesus began to say reproof to \sls (the)\sls* cities, in which full many virtues of him were done, for they did not penance. \sls (Then Jesus began to rebuke the cities, in which a great many works of power, or miracles, were done by him, because they did not repent.)\sls*

\v 21 Woe to thee! Chorazin, woe to thee! Bethsaida; for if the virtues that be done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, sometime they had done penance in hair-shirt and ashes. \sls (Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee, Bethsaida! for if the works of power, or the miracles, that had been done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented in sackcloth and ashes long ago.)\sls*

\v 22 Nevertheless I say to you, it shall be less pain\sls (ful)\sls* to Tyre and Sidon in the day of doom \sls (or on the Day of Judgement)\sls*, than to you.

\v 23 And thou, Capernaum, whether thou shalt be araised up into heaven? Thou shalt go down into hell. \v 32 And whoever saith a word against man’s Son, it shall be forgiven to him; but who that saith a word against the Holy Ghost \sls (or but who that saith a word against the Holy Spirit)\sls*, it shall not be forgiven to him, neither in this world, nor in the tother.

\v 33 Either make ye the tree good, and his fruit good; either make ye the tree evil and his fruit evil; for a tree is known of his fruit \sls (or for a tree is known by its fruit)\sls*.

\v 34 Ye generation of adders, how may ye speak good things, when ye be evil? \sls (or Ye children of snakes, how can ye say anything good, when ye yourselves be evil?)\sls* For the mouth speaketh \sls (out)\sls* of the plenty \add [or \+sls (out)\+sls* of the great abundance]\add* of the heart.

\v 35 A good man bringeth forth good things of good treasure, and an evil man bringeth forth evil things of evil treasure.

\v 37 for of thy words thou shalt be justified, and of thy words thou shalt be condemned.

\v 38 Then some of the scribes and the Pharisees answered to him, and said, Master, we will see a token of thee, \sls (or Teacher, we desire to see a sign from thee)\sls*.

\v 39 Which answered, and said to them, An evil kindred and a spouse-breaker seeketh a token \add [or An evil generation and adulterous seeketh a token]\add*, and a token shall not be given to it, \add [no]\add* but the token of Jonas, the prophet. \sls (And he answered, and said to them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh a sign, and no sign shall be given to it, except for the sign of the prophet Jonah.)\sls*

\v 40 For as Jonas was in the womb of a whale three days and three nights \sls (or For as Jonah was in the belly of a whale for three days and three nights)\sls*, so man’s Son shall be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

\v 41 Men of Nineveh shall rise in \sls (the)\sls* doom with this generation, and shall condemn it; for they did penance in the preaching of Jonas, and lo! here \add [is]\add* a greater \sls (man)\sls* than Jonas. \sls (Men of Nineveh shall rise at the Judgement with this generation, and they shall condemn it; for they repented after the preaching of Jonah, and behold! here \+em (is)\+em* something greater than Jonah.)\sls*

\v 43 When an unclean spirit goeth out from a man, he goeth by dry places, seeking rest, and findeth not \add [or and he findeth none]\add*.

\v 44 Then he saith, I shall turn again into mine house, from whence I went out. And he cometh, and findeth it void, and cleansed with besoms, and made fair. \sls (Then he saith, I shall return to my house, from where I went out. And he cometh, and findeth it empty, and swept clean, and made neat and tidy.)\sls*

\v 45 Then he goeth \sls (out)\sls*, and taketh \sls (back)\sls* with him seven other spirits worse than himself; and they enter \add [in]\add*, and dwell there. And the last things of that man be made worse than the former. So it shall be to this worst generation, \sls (or And so the last things of that man be made worse than the first things. \v 48 And he answered to the man, that spake to him, and said, Who is my mother? and who be my brethren?

\v 49 And he held forth his hand into his disciples, and said, Lo! my mother and my brethren;

\v 50 for whoever doeth the will of my Father that is in heavens, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

\v 1 In that day Jesus went out of the house, and sat beside the sea.

\v 2 And much people was gathered to him, so that he went up into a boat, and sat; and all the people stood on the brink \sls (or and all the people stood on the shore)\sls*.

\v 3 And he spake to them many things in parables, and said, Lo! he that soweth, went out to sow his seed.

\v 4 And while he soweth, some \em seeds\em* felled beside the way, and \sls (the)\sls* birds of the air came, and ate them.

\v 5 But other \em seeds\em* felled into stony places, where they had not much earth; and anon they sprung up \sls (or and at once they sprouted)\sls*, for they had not \sls (any)\sls* deepness of earth.

\v 14 that the prophecy of Esaias saying be fulfilled in them \sls (or so that the prophecy of Isaiah be fulfilled in them, saying)\sls*, With hearing ye shall hear, and ye shall not understand; and ye seeing shall see, and ye shall not see;

\v 17 Forsooth I say to you, that many prophets and just men coveted to see those things that ye see, and they saw not, and to hear those things that ye hear, and they heard not.

\v 18 Therefore hear ye the parable of the sower.

\v 19 Each that heareth the word of the realm, and understandeth \sls (it)\sls* not, the evil spirit cometh, and ravisheth \sls (or snatcheth up)\sls* that that is sown in his heart; this it is \add [or this is he]\add*, that is sown beside the way.

\v 34 Jesus spake all these things in parables to the people, and he spake not to them without parables,

\v 45 Again the kingdom of heavens is like to a merchant, that seeketh good margarites \add [or good pearls]\add*;

\v 46 but when he hath found one precious margarite \sls (or one precious pearl)\sls*, he went, and sold all \sls (the)\sls* things that he had, and bought it.
\p
\v 47 Again the kingdom of heavens is like to a net cast into the sea, and that gathereth together of all kinds of fishes;

\v 48 which when it was full, they drew it up, and sat by the brink, and chose the good into their vessels, but the evil they cast out. \sls (which when it was full, they drew it up, and sat on the shore, and chose the good ones for their pails, or their baskets, but the bad ones they threw away.)\sls*

\v 49 So it shall be in the end\sls (ing)\sls* of the world. Angels shall go out, and shall separate evil men from the middle \add [or from the midst]\add* of just men.

\v 50 And they shall send them into the chimney of fire; there shall be weeping, and grinding of teeth.

\v 51 Have ye understood all these things? They say to him, Yea.

\v 4 For John said to him, It is not leaveful to thee to have her. \sls (For John said to him, It is not lawful for thee to have her as your wife.)\sls*

\v 5 And he willing to slay him, dreaded the people; for they had him as a prophet. \sls (And he wanted to kill him, but he feared the people; for they said that he was a prophet.)\sls*

\v 6 But in the day of Herod’s birth \sls (or But on Herod’s birthday)\sls*, the daughter of Herodias danced in the middle, and pleased Herod.

\v 7 Wherefore with an oath he promised to give to her, whatever thing she asked of him.

\v 25 But in the fourth waking of the night, he came to them walking on the sea. \sls (But about the fourth watch of the night, he came to them walking on the lake.)\sls*

\v 26 And they, seeing him walking on the sea, were disturbed \add [or were distroubled]\add*, and said, That it is a phantom; and for dread they cried \sls (or and they cried out in fear)\sls*.

\v 27 And anon Jesus spake to them, and said, Have ye trust, I am \sls (he)\sls*; do not ye dread. \sls (And at once Jesus spoke to them, and said, Have trust, it is me; do not fear.)\sls*

\v 29 And he said, Come thou. And Peter went down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus.

\v 30 But he saw the wind strong, and was afeared; and when he began to drench, he cried, and said, Lord, make me safe. \sls (But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid; and when he began to drown, he cried, and said, Lord, save me.)\sls*

\v 31 And anon \sls (or at once)\sls* Jesus held forth his hand, and took \em Peter\em*\add [or \+sls (and)\+sls* caught him]\add*, and said to him, Thou of little faith, why hast thou doubted?

\v 1 Then the scribes and the Pharisees came to him from Jerusalem, and said,

\v 2 Why break thy disciples the traditions of \sls (the)\sls* elder men? \add [or Why \+sls (do)\+sls* thy disciples break the traditions, either the teachings, of \+sls (the)\+sls* elder men?]\add*\sls (or Why do thy disciples break the traditions of the elders?)\sls* for they wash not their hands, when they eat bread.

\v 3 He answered, and said to them, Why break ye the commandment of God for your tradition?
\p
\v 4 For God said, Honour thy father and thy mother, and he that curseth father or mother, die he by death.

\v 5 But ye say, Whoever saith to father or mother, Whatever gift is of me, it shall profit to thee, \sls (or Whatever gift is for me, it shall profit thee)\sls*;

\v 6 and he hath not worshipped \add [or he hath not honoured]\add* his father or his mother; and ye have made the commandment of God void \sls (or empty)\sls* for your tradition.

\v 8 This people honoureth me with lips, but their heart is far from me;

\v 12 Then his disciples came, and said to him, Thou knowest \add [or Knowest thou]\add*, that, if this word be heard, the Pharisees be offended?

\v 13 And he answered, and said, Every planting, that my Father of heaven hath not planted, shall be drawn up by the root.

\v 13 Then the disciples understood, that he said to them of John the Baptist.

\v 20 Jesus saith to them, For your unbelief. Truly I say to you, if ye have faith, as a corn of sinapi, ye shall say to this hill, Pass thou \add [from]\add* hence, and it shall pass \sls (away)\sls*; and nothing shall be impossible to you; \sls (Jesus said to them, Because of your lack of faith. \v 26 And he said, Of aliens \sls (or From foreigners)\sls*. Jesus said to him, Then \sls (the)\sls* sons be free.

\v 8 And if thine hand or thy foot cause thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast \em it\em* away from thee. It is better to thee to enter \add [in]\add* to life feeble, either crooked, \sls (or It is better for thee to enter into (eternal)\sls* life maimed, or lame), than having twain hands or two feet to be sent into \sls (the)\sls* everlasting fire.

\v 12 What seemeth to you? If there were to a man an hundred sheep, and one of them hath erred, whether he shall not leave \sls (the)\sls* ninety and nine in \sls (the)\sls* desert \add [or in the hills]\add*, and shall go to seek that that erred? \sls (What seemeth to you? If a man hath a hundred sheep, and one of them hath wandered off, shall he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills, and go to seek the one which hath wandered off?)\sls*

\v 21 Then Peter came to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I shall forgive him? Whether till seven times?

\v 22 Jesus saith to him, I say not to thee, till seven times; but till seventy times seven times.

\v 23 Therefore the kingdom of heavens is likened to a king, that would reckon with his servants.

\v 20 The young man saith to him, I have kept all these things from my youth, what yet faileth to me?

\v 21 Jesus saith to him, If thou wilt be perfect, go, and sell all \sls (the)\sls* things that thou hast, and give \sls (the proceeds)\sls* to poor men \sls (or to the poor)\sls*, and \sls (then)\sls* thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, and \sls (pur)\sls*sue me \sls (or and follow me)\sls*.

\v 22 And when the young man had heard these words, he went away sorrowful, for he had many possessions.

\v 23 And Jesus said to his disciples, I say to you truth, \add [or Truly I say to you]\add*, \sls (or I tell you the truth)\sls*, for a rich man of hard shall enter into the kingdom of heavens.

\v 28 And Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, that ye that have forsaken all things, and have \sls (pur)\sls*sued me, in the regeneration when man’s Son shall sit in the seat of his majesty, \add [also]\add* ye shall sit on twelve seats, deeming the twelve kindreds of Israel. \sls (And Jesus said to them, I tell you the truth, that ye who have forsaken everything, and have followed me, in the regeneration when man’s Son shall sit on the throne of his majesty, ye shall also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.)\sls*

\v 2 And when the covenant was made with the workmen, of a penny for the day, he sent them into his vineyard.

\v 3 And he went out about the third hour \sls (or about nine o’clock in the morning)\sls*, and saw others standing idle in the market.

\v 4 And he said to them, Go ye also into mine vineyard, and that that shall be rightful, I shall give to you. And they went forth.

\v 5 Again he went out about the sixth hour, and the ninth, and did in like manner.

\v 17 And Jesus went up to Jerusalem, and took his twelve disciples in private, and said to them,

\v 18 Lo! we go up to Jerusalem, and man’s Son shall be betaken to \sls (the)\sls* princes of \sls (the)\sls* priests, and to \sls (the)\sls* scribes, \sls (or and man’s Son shall be delivered, or given over, to the high priests, and the scribes)\sls*; and they shall condemn him to death.

\v 24 And the ten hearing, had indignation of the two brethren. \sls (And the other ten hearing this, felt indignation toward the two brothers.)\sls*

\v 29 And when they went out of Jericho, much people \sls (pur)\sls*sued him. \sls (And when they left Jericho, many people followed him.)\sls*

\v 30 And lo! two blind men sat beside the way, and heard that Jesus passed \sls (by)\sls*; and they cried, and said, Lord, the son of David, have mercy on us.

\v 31 And the people blamed them, that they should be still, \sls (or And the people rebuked them, so that they would be quiet)\sls*; and they cried the more, and said, Lord, the son of David, have mercy on us.

\v 25 Of whence was the baptism of John; of heaven, or of men? And they thought within themselves, saying, If we say of heaven, he shall say to us, Why then believe ye not to him? \sls (From where was the baptism of John; from heaven, or from men? And they thought within themselves, saying, If we say from heaven, he shall say to us, Then why did ye not believe him?)\sls*

\v 26 If we say of men, we dread the people, for all had John as a prophet. \sls (If we say from men, we fear the people, for everyone believed that John was a prophet.)\sls*

\v 27 And they answered to Jesus, and said, We know not. And he said to them, Neither I say to you, in what power I do these things.

\v 28 But what seemeth to you? A man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work this day in my vineyard.

\v 29 And he answered, and said, I will not; but afterward he forthought, and went forth, \add [or but afterward he stirred by penance, or forthinking, \+sls (or repenting)\+sls*, went]\add*, \sls (or but later he repented, and went, and worked)\sls*.

\v 32 For John came to you in the way of rightwiseness, and ye believed not to him; but publicans and whores believed to him. But ye saw, and had no forthinking after, that ye believed to him, \add [or But ye seeing, had not penance afterward, that ye should believe to him]\add*. \sls (For John came to you by the way of righteousness, and ye did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes believed him. \v 33 Hear ye another parable. There was an husbandman, that planted a vineyard, and hedged it about, and delved a presser therein, and builded a tower, and hired it to earth-tillers, and went far \sls (away)\sls* in pilgrimage. \sls (Listen to another parable. There was a landowner, who planted a vineyard, and hedged it about, and dug a hole for a winepress in it, and built a look-out tower, and rented the land to farmers, and then went on a journey.)\sls*

\v 34 And when the time of fruits nighed, he sent his servants to the earth-tillers, to take \sls (the)\sls* fruits of it. \sls (And when the time of fruits approached, he sent his servants to the farmers, to receive some of its fruits.)\sls*

\v 35 And the earth-tillers took his servants, and they beat one, they slew another, and stoned another.

\v 36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and in like manner they did to them \add [or and they did to them in like manner]\add*.
\p
\v 37 And at the last he sent his son to them, and said, They shall dread my son. \sls (And finally he sent his son to them, and said, They shall fear my son, or They shall show reverence, or respect, for my son.)\sls*

\v 38 But the earth-tillers, seeing the son, said within themselves, This is the heir; come ye, slay we him, and we shall have his heritage. \sls (But the farmers, seeing the son, said to each other, He is the heir; come, let us kill him, and then we shall get his inheritance.)\sls*

\v 39 And they took him, and casted him out of the vineyard, and slew \em him\em*. \sls (And they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed \+em him\+em*.)\sls*

\v 40 Therefore when the lord of the vineyard shall come, what shall he do to those earth-tillers?

\v 41 They say to him, He shall lose evil \sls (or He shall destroy evil)\sls*, \sls (yea)\sls*, the evil men, and he shall set to hire his vineyard to other earth-tillers, which shall yield to him \sls (the)\sls* fruit in their times.

\v 42 Jesus saith to them, Read ye never in \sls (the)\sls* scriptures, The stone which the builders reproved, this is made into the head of the corner? Of the Lord this thing is done, and it is marvelous \add [or it is wonderful]\add* in our eyes.

\v 6 But others held his servants, and tormented them, and slew \add [them]\add*.

\v 8 Then he said to his servants, The weddings be ready, but they that were called to the feast, were not worthy.

But do not ye do after their works; for they say, and do not. \sls (And so obey ye them, and do everything, whatever they tell you to do. But do not do, or follow, after their works; for they say to do something, but they do not do it themselves.)\sls*

\v 23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, that tithe mint, anise, and cumin, and have left those things that be of more charge of the law \sls (or that be of greater importance in the Law)\sls*, \sls (yea)\sls*, doom \sls (or judgement)\sls*, and mercy, and faith. And it behooved \add [or needed]\add* to do these things, and not to leave \sls (undone)\sls* those \sls (other things)\sls*.

\v 24 Blind leaders, cleansing a gnat, but swallowing a camel.

\v 25 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, that cleanse the cup and the platter withoutforth; but within ye be full of raven, and uncleanness, \sls (or but within ye be full of the spoils gotten from robberies, and uncleanness)\sls*.
\p
\v 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first the cup and the platter withinforth, \sls (so)\sls* that \add [also]\add* that that is withoutforth be made clean.
\p
\v 27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, that be like to sepulchres whited \add [or made white]\add*, which withoutforth seem fair to men, \sls (or who be like white tombs, which on the outside look beautiful to men)\sls*; but within they be full of \sls (the)\sls* bones of dead men, and of all filth.

\v 28 So ye withoutforth seem just \add [or rightful]\add* to men; but within ye be full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

\v 29 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, that build \add [the]\add* sepulchres of \sls (the)\sls* prophets, and make fair the burials of just men, \sls (Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, who build the tombs of the prophets, and make the tombs of the righteous beautiful,)\sls*

\v 30 and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we should not have been their fellows in \sls (spilling)\sls* the blood of \sls (the)\sls* prophets. \sls (and say, If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been their partners in spilling the blood of the prophets.)\sls*

\v 31 And so ye be in\add [to]\add* witnessing to yourselves, that ye be the sons of them that slew the prophets. \sls (And so ye testify about yourselves, that ye be the sons of those who killed the prophets.)\sls*

\v 37 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that slayest prophets, and stonest them that be sent to thee, how oft would I gather together thy children, as an hen gathereth together her chickens under her wings, and thou wouldest not \sls (or but thou would not let me)\sls*.

\v 1 And Jesus went out of the temple; and his disciples came to him, to show him the buildings of the temple.

\v 2 But he answered, and said to them, See ye all these things? Truly I say to you \sls (or I tell you the truth)\sls*, a stone shall not be left on a stone/a stone shall not be left here on one stone, that not it shall be destroyed \add [or which shall not be destroyed]\add*.

\v 24 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise \sls (up)\sls*, \sls (or For false Messiahs and false prophets shall rise up)\sls*, and they shall give great tokens \add [or great signs]\add* and wonders; so that also the chosen be led into error, if it may be done.

\v 25 Lo! I have before-said to you.

\v 27 For as lightning goeth out from the east, and appeareth into the west, so shall be also the coming of man’s Son.

\v 28 Wherever the body shall be, also the eagles shall be gathered thither.

\v 31 And he shall send \sls (out)\sls* his angels with a trumpet, and a great voice \sls (or and a great blast)\sls*; and they shall gather his chosen from \sls (the)\sls* four winds, from the highest things of heaven \sls (un)\sls*to the ends of them.

\v 32 And learn ye the parable of the fig tree. When his branch is now tender, and the leaves be sprung, ye know that summer is nigh, \sls (or When its branch is now tender, and the leaves be sprung out, ye know that summer is near)\sls*;

\v 40 Then twain shall be in a field, one shall be taken, and the other left;

\v 46 Blessed \em is\em* that servant, whom his lord, when he shall come, shall find so doing.

\v 47 Truly I say to you, for on all his goods he shall ordain him. \sls (I tell you the truth, that he shall put him in charge over all of his property.)\sls*

\v 48 But if that evil servant say in his heart, My lord tarrieth to come,

\v 49 and beginneth to smite his even-servants, and to eat, and drink with drunken men;

\v 50 the lord of that servant shall come in the day \add [in]\add* which he hopeth not, and in the hour that he knoweth not,

\v 1 Then the kingdom of heavens shall be like to ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went out to meet the husband and the wife;

\v 2 and five of them were fools, and five \sls (of them were)\sls* prudent.

\v 3 But the five fools took their lamps, and took not oil with them;
\p
\v 4 but the prudent \sls (ones)\sls* took oil in their vessels with the lamps.
\p
\v 5 And whiles the husband tarried, all they napped and slept \add [or all napped and slept]\add*.

\v 6 But at midnight a cry was made, Lo! the spouse cometh, go ye out to meet with him \add [or go ye out to meet him]\add*.

\v 7 Then all those virgins rose up, and arrayed their lamps.

\v 50 And Jesus said to him, Friend, whereto art thou come? Then they came nigh, and laid hands on Jesus, and held him \sls (or and seized him)\sls*.

\v 51 And lo! one of them that were with Jesus, stretched out his hand, and drew out his sword; and he smote the servant of the prince of \sls (the)\sls* priests \sls (or and he struck the servant of the High Priest)\sls*, and cut off his ear.

\v 52 Then Jesus said to him, Turn thy sword into his place \sls (or Return thy sword into its place)\sls*; for all that take \sls (up a)\sls* sword, shall perish by \sls (the)\sls* sword.

\v 53 Whether guessest thou, that I may not pray \sls (to)\sls* my Father, and he shall give to me now more than twelve legions of angels?

\v 54 How then shall the scriptures be fulfilled? for so it behooveth to be done.

\v 59 And the prince of \sls (the)\sls* priests, and all the council sought false witnessing against Jesus, that they should \sls (be)\sls*take him to \sls (the)\sls* death; \sls (And the High Priest, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus, so that they could deliver him unto death;)\sls*

\v 60 and they found not, when many false witnesses were come. But at the last, two false witnesses came,

\v 61 and said, This \sls (man)\sls* said, I may destroy the temple of God, and after the third day build it again \add [or and after three days build it again]\add*. \sls (and said, He said, I shall destroy the Temple of God, and after three days build it up again.)\sls*

\v 62 And the prince of \sls (the)\sls* priests rose, and said to him, Answerest thou nothing to those things, that these witness against thee? \sls (And the High Priest rose, and said to him, Answerest thou nothing about these things, that they testify against thee?)\sls*

\v 63 But Jesus was still. And the prince of \sls (the)\sls* priests said to him, I conjure thee by the living God, that thou say to us, if thou art Christ, the Son of God. \sls (But Jesus was silent. And the High Priest said to him, I command thee by the living God, that thou tell us, if thou art the Messiah, the Son of God.)\sls*

\v 64 Jesus said to him, Thou hast said \sls (it)\sls*; nevertheless I say to you, hereafter ye shall see man’s Son sitting at the right half of the virtue of God, and coming in the clouds of \sls (the)\sls* heaven\sls (s)\sls*. \sls (Jesus said to him, Thou hast said it; nevertheless I tell you, hereafter ye shall see man’s Son sitting at the right hand, or on the right side, of the power of God, and coming on the clouds of the heavens.)\sls*

\v 65 Then the prince of \sls (the)\sls* priests rent his clothes, and said, He hath blasphemed; what yet have we need to witnesses? lo! now ye have heard blasphemy; \sls (Then the High Priest tore his clothes, and said, He hath blasphemed; why do we need any more witnesses? behold! now ye have heard blasphemy;)\sls*

\v 66 what seemeth to you? And they answered, and said, He is guilty of death.

\v 67 Then they spat in his face, and smote him with buffets; and others gave strokes with the palm of their hands in\add [to]\add* his face,

\v 2 And they led him bound, and betook him to Pilate of Pontii, \sls (the)\sls*\add [chief]\add* justice \add [or the president]\add*. \sls (And they led him bound, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate, the Governor.)\sls*

\v 3 Then Judas that betrayed him, saw \add [or seeing]\add* that he was condemned, he repented, and brought again the thirty pieces \add [of silver]\add* to the princes of \sls (the)\sls* priests, and to the elder men of the people, \sls (or and returned the thirty pieces of silver to the high priests, and to the elders of the people)\sls*,

\v 7 And when they had taken counsel, they bought with it a field of a potter \add [or they bought with them a field of a potter]\add*, into \add [the]\add* burying of pilgrims. \sls (And when they had made a plan, they bought a potter’s field with it, for the burying of visitors.)\sls*

\v 8 Therefore that field is called Aceldama, that is, a field of blood, into this day.

\v 15 But for a solemn day the justice \add [or the president]\add* was wont to deliver to the people one bound, whom they would. \sls (And on the Feast Day, or during the Festival, the Governor had a custom to release one prisoner to the people, whomever they wanted.)\sls*

\v 16 And he had then a famous man bound \add [or Forsooth he had one famous man bound]\add*, that was said Barabbas. \sls (And he had then a notorious prisoner, who was called Barabbas.)\sls*

\v 28 And they unclothed him, and did about him a red mantle;

\v 29 and they folded a crown of thorns, and put \sls (it)\sls* on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and they kneeled before him, and scorned him, and said, Hail, king of Jews, \sls (or Hail, the King of the Jews)\sls*.

\v 30 And they spat on him, and took a reed, and smote his head.

\v 31 And after that they had scorned him, they unclothed him of the mantle, and they clothed him with his clothes, and led him \sls (away)\sls* to crucify him \add [or and led him \+sls (away)\+sls* for to be crucified]\add*.

\v 32 And as they went out, they found a man of Cyrene coming from the town, Simon by name; they constrained him to take his cross \sls (or and they compelled him to carry his cross)\sls*.

\v 33 And they came into a place that is called Golgotha \add [or And they came to a place that is called Golgotha]\add*, that is, the place of Calvary.

\v 35 And after that they had crucified him, they parted his clothes, and cast lots, to fulfill that \sls (that)\sls* is said by the prophet, saying, They parted to them my clothes, and on my cloth they cast lots. \sls (And after that they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes, and threw dice, to fulfill what is said by the prophet, saying, They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my cloak they threw dice.)\sls*

\v 36 And they sat, and kept \sls (watch over)\sls* him;

\v 38 Then two thieves were crucified with him, one on the right half, and one on the left half, \sls (or one on his right side, and one on his left side)\sls*.

\v 43 he trusted in God; deliver he him now, if he will; for he said, That I am God’s Son, \add [or for he said, I am the Son of God]\add*.

\v 44 And the thieves, that were crucified with him, upbraided him of the same thing.

\v 57 But when the evening was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, Joseph by name, and he was a disciple of Jesus.

\v 13 and said, Say ye, that his disciples came by night, and have stolen him, while ye slept.

\v 14 And if this be heard of the justice \add [or of the president]\add*, we shall counsel him, and make you secure. \sls (And if this be heard by the Governor, we shall talk with him, and keep you safe.)\sls*

\v 15 And when the money was taken, they did, as they were taught, \sls (or they did, as they were told)\sls*. And this word is published among the Jews, till into this day.
