\v 19 and which is the excellent greatness of his virtue, into us that have believed, by the working of the might of his virtue, \sls (and what is the excellent greatness of his power, for those of us who have believed, by the working of the might of his power,)\sls*

\v 3 in which also we all lived sometime in the desires of our flesh, doing the wills of the flesh and of the thoughts \sls (or doing the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts, or of the mind)\sls*, and we were by kind \sls (or by nature)\sls* the sons of wrath, as other men;

\v 2 if nevertheless ye have heard the dispensation of God’s grace, that is given to me in you.

\v 3 For by revelation the sacrament is made known to me, as I above wrote in short thing,

\v 5 Which was not known to other generations to the sons of men, as it is now showed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit,

\v 6 that heathen men be even-heirs, and of one body, and partners together of his promise in Christ Jesus by the evangel; \sls (that the Gentiles be equal heirs, and of one body, and partners together of his promise in the Messiah Jesus by the Gospel or the Good News;)\sls*

\v 7 whose minister I am made, by the gift of God’s grace, which is given to me by the working of his virtue \sls (or which is given to me by the working of his power)\sls*.

\v 19 also to know the charity of Christ more excellent\sls (ly)\sls* than science, that ye be \add [full-]\add*filled in all the plenty of God. \sls (and also to know the love of the Messiah more completely than knowledge itself, so that ye be filled full with all the abundance of God.)\sls*

\v 20 And to him that is mighty to do all things more plenteously than we ask or understand, by the virtue that worketh in us \sls (or by the power that worketh in us)\sls*,

\v 21 to him be glory in the church, and in Christ Jesus, into all the generations of the world\sls (s)\sls* of worlds. Amen. \sls (to him be glory in the church, and in Messiah Jesus, from generation unto generation forever and ever. Amen.)\sls*

\v 1 Therefore I bound for the Lord beseech you, that ye walk worthily in the calling, in which ye be called,

\v 2 with all meekness and mildness, with patience supporting each other in charity, \sls (in all humbleness and humility, with forbearance supporting each other in love,)\sls*
\p
\v 3 busy to keep \sls (the)\sls* unity of \sls (the)\sls* Spirit in the bond of peace.
\p
\v 4 One body and one Spirit, as ye be called in one hope of your calling;

\v 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

\v 6 one God and Father of all, which is above all men, and by all things, and in us all.

\v 7 But to each of us grace is given by \add [or after]\add* the measure of the giving of Christ; \sls (But each of us is given grace according to the measure of the giving of the Messiah;)\sls*

\v 8 for which thing he saith, He ascending on high, led captivity captive, he gave gifts to men.

\v 1 Therefore be ye followers of God, as most dearworthy sons;

\v 8 For ye were sometime darknesses, \sls (or For before ye were in darkness, or For before ye were darkness)\sls*, but now ye \em be\em* light in the Lord. Walk ye as the sons of light.

\v 9 For the fruit of light is in all goodness, and rightwiseness, and truth.

\v 10 And prove ye what thing is well pleasing to God.

\v 12 For what things be done of them in privy, it is foul, yea, to speak.

\v 20 \sls (for)\sls*evermore doing thankings for all things \sls (or always giving thanks for everything)\sls*, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God and to the Father.

\v 21 \em Be ye\em* subject together in the dread of Christ. \sls (\+em Be\+em* subject to one another out of reverence for the Messiah.)\sls*

\v 22 Women, be they subject to their husbands, as to the Lord,
\p
\v 23 for the man is \sls (the)\sls* head of the woman, as Christ is head of the church \sls (or as the Messiah is the head of the church)\sls*; he \em is\em*\sls (the)\sls* Saviour of his body.
\p
\v 24 But as the church is subject to Christ \sls (or And just as the church is subject to the Messiah)\sls*, so \sls (let)\sls* women \sls (be subject)\sls* to their husbands in all things.

\v 25 Men, love ye your wives, as Christ loved the church \sls (or as the Messiah loved the church)\sls*, and gave himself for it,

\v 26 to make it holy; and cleansed it with the washing of water, in the word of life,

\v 4 And, fathers, do not ye provoke your sons to wrath; but nourish ye them in the teaching and \sls (the)\sls* chastising of the Lord \add [or but nourish ye them in the discipline and \+sls (the)\+sls* correction of the Lord]\add*.

\v 5 Servants, obey ye to fleshly lords with dread and trembling, in simpleness of your heart, as to Christ; \sls (Servants, obey your human lords with fearful reverence and trembling, and with sincerity in your hearts, as unto the Messiah;)\sls*

\v 6 not serving at the eye, as pleasing to men, but as servants of Christ \sls (or but as the Messiah’s servants)\sls*; doing the will of God by discretion,

\v 7 with good will serving as to the Lord, and not as to men;

\v 8 witting \sls (or knowing)\sls* that each man, whatever good thing he shall do, he shall receive this of the Lord, whether servant, whether free man.

\v 9 And, ye lords, do the same things to them, forgiving menacings; witting that both their Lord and yours is in heavens, and the taking of persons is not with God. \sls (And, ye lords, do the same thing for them, forgiving threats; knowing that both their Lord and yours is in heaven, and that the favouring of persons is not done by God.)\sls*

\v 10 Here afterward, brethren, be ye comforted in the Lord, and in the might of his virtue. \sls (Here afterward or Henceforth, brothers, be strengthened in the Lord, and in the power of his might.)\sls*

\v 11 Clothe you\sls (rselves)\sls* with the armour of God, that ye may stand against the ambushings, \add [or \+sls (the)\+sls* assailings]\add*, of the devil. \sls (Clothe yourselves with the armour of God, so that ye can stand against the Devil’s assaults.)\sls*

\v 12 For why striving \add [or battle]\add* is not to us against flesh and blood, but against \add [the]\add* princes and \sls (the)\sls* potentates, against \sls (the)\sls* governors of the world of these darknesses, \sls (or against the rulers of the darkness in this world, or the rulers of this dark world)\sls*, against spiritual things of wickedness, in heavenly things.

\v 13 Therefore take ye the armour of God, that ye may against-stand in the evil day, \sls (or And so take or put on God’s armour, so that ye can withstand, or stand against,\+em the Devil\+em* on the Day of Evil)\sls*; and in all things stand perfect.

\v 14 Therefore stand ye, and be girded about your loins in soothfastness, and clothed with the habergeon of rightwiseness, \sls (And so stand, with your loins girded in truthfulness, or with truth, and clothed with the breastplate of righteousness,)\sls*

\v 15 and your feet shod in \sls (the)\sls* making ready of the gospel of peace. \sls (and your feet shod in the preparation of the Gospel, or the Good News, of peace.)\sls*

\v 16 In all things take ye the shield of faith, in which ye may quench all the fiery darts of \em him that is\em*\sls (the)\sls* most wicked or \sls (of \+em him who is\+em*)\sls* the worst.

\v 17 And take ye the helmet of health, and the sword of the Ghost, that is, the word of God. \sls (And take or put on the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Holy Spirit, that is, the word of God.)\sls*

\v 18 By all prayer and beseeching pray ye all time in \sls (the)\sls* Spirit, and in him waking in all busyness, and beseeching for all holy men \add [or for all \+sls (the)\+sls* saints]\add*. \sls (By all prayer and beseeching pray all the time in the Spirit, and in him keeping watch with all diligence, and beseeching for all of God’s people.)\sls*

\v 19 and for me; that word be given to me in \sls (the)\sls* opening of my mouth, with trust to make known the mystery of the gospel,

\v 20 for which I am set in message in a chain \sls (or for which I am an ambassador in a chain)\sls*; so that in it I be hardy \sls (or I be bold)\sls* to speak, as it behooveth me \add [to speak out]\add*.

\v 21 And \sls (so that)\sls* ye know, what things be about me, \sls (and)\sls* what I do, Tychicus, my most dear brother, and true minister in the Lord \sls (or and a true servant in the Lord)\sls*, shall make all things known to you;

\v 22 whom I sent to you for this same thing, \sls (so)\sls* that ye know what things be about us, and that he comfort your hearts \sls (or and so that he strengthen your hearts)\sls*.

\v 23 Peace to brethren, and charity, \sls (or Peace be to the brothers, and love)\sls*, with \sls (the)\sls* faith of God our Father, and of the Lord Jesus Christ.

\v 24 Grace \sls (be)\sls* with all men that love our Lord Jesus Christ in uncorruption. Amen, \em that is, So be it\em*.
