\imt1 About this letter  
\ip Paul wrote this letter about 2,000 years ago, about 30 years after Jesus went back to heaven, and it is now part of the Holy Bible.  
\ip God sent Paul to lots of countries and lots of towns to tell people about Jesus. One of those towns was Ephesus (see Acts 18:19—20:1). It was a big town in the country that is now called Turkey. About 200 years later the enemies of Ephesus broke it down, and today there are just stones and rubbish at that place in Turkey.  
\ip At the time when Paul wrote this letter, the people called the Romans were the bosses over lots of nations. The Roman bosses didn’t like Paul telling people about Jesus, so they grabbed him and put him in jail. Paul wrote this letter while he was in that jail, in Rome.  
\ip In this letter, Paul wrote about how God planned great things for us Christians. He wrote about how Jesus joins all of us together into his family, no matter what nation we belong to, so that we can be strong for God and live the way he wants us to live.  
\ip Paul wrote this letter a long time ago, but it still has good messages for us today. So we have to take notice today of those messages that Paul wrote to the Christians at Ephesus.

\s1 God gives us a lot

\v 3 \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w father|strong="G3962"\w* \w of|strong="G2316"\w* \w our|strong="G2316"\w* leader \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*. \w God|strong="G2316"\w* joined \w us|strong="G2249"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w gave|strong="G2532"\w* \w us|strong="G2249"\w* \w every|strong="G3956"\w* \w good|strong="G3956"\w* \w thing|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w our|strong="G2316"\w* spirits need. \w So|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* \w have|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* thank \w him|strong="G3588"\w* \w a|strong="G2532"\w* lot.

\v 4 \w A|strong="G2532"\w* long \w time|strong="G1722"\w* \w ago|strong="G4253"\w*, \w before|strong="G4253"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w made|strong="G1586"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w world|strong="G2889"\w*, \w he|strong="G2532"\w* picked \w us|strong="G2249"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w be|strong="G1510"\w* \w his|strong="G1722"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* joined \w us|strong="G2249"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G1510"\w* Christ, \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G2532"\w* \w now|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* can \w say|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* \w good|strong="G2532"\w*, \w like|strong="G2531"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* never \w did|strong="G2532"\w* anything wrong. \w He|strong="G2532"\w* loved \w us|strong="G2249"\w*,  
\v 5 \w so|strong="G1519"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* got \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w bring|strong="G1519"\w* \w us|strong="G1519"\w* \w into|strong="G1519"\w* \w his|strong="G1223"\w* family, \w and|strong="G2424"\w* now \w we|strong="G2249"\w* can \w be|strong="G1519"\w* \w God|strong="G1519"\w*’s own kids. \w God|strong="G1519"\w* \w did|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w because|strong="G1223"\w* \w it|strong="G1223"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w what|strong="G3588"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* really wanted \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w do|strong="G1223"\w*.  
\v 6 \w So|strong="G1519"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* \w thank|strong="G5485"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w* \w a|strong="G1519"\w* lot \w for|strong="G1519"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w*. \w God|strong="G1519"\w* loves \w his|strong="G1519"\w* son, Jesus, \w very|strong="G3588"\w* much, \w and|strong="G1391"\w* \w after|strong="G1722"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* joined \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w his|strong="G1519"\w* son, \w God|strong="G1519"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* really \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w us|strong="G1519"\w* too.  
\v 7 \w You|strong="G3739"\w* \w know|strong="G1722"\w*, \w we|strong="G3739"\w* \w were|strong="G3588"\w* prisoners \w of|strong="G1223"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* devil, \w the|strong="G1722"\w* boss \w over|strong="G2596"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* bad spirits. \w But|strong="G3588"\w* Jesus \w died|strong="G3588"\w* \w for|strong="G1223"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w*, \w and|strong="G5485"\w* \w his|strong="G1223"\w* blood \w came|strong="G3588"\w* \w out|strong="G1223"\w* \w for|strong="G1223"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w*. Jesus paid \w for|strong="G1223"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w with|strong="G1722"\w* \w his|strong="G1223"\w* own blood, \w and|strong="G5485"\w* \w he|strong="G3739"\w* set \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w free|strong="G1722"\w* \w from|strong="G2596"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* devil. \w So|strong="G1223"\w* \w now|strong="G1722"\w* \w God|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G3739"\w* \w not|strong="G3739"\w* punish \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w for|strong="G1223"\w* \w all|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* bad \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w we|strong="G3739"\w* \w did|strong="G2192"\w*. Yes, \w God|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w very|strong="G3588"\w* \w good|strong="G1223"\w* \w to|strong="G2596"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w*.\x * \xo 1:7 \xt Colossians 1:14\x*  
\v 8 \w He|strong="G2532"\w* does \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w for|strong="G1519"\w* \w us|strong="G1519"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w also|strong="G2532"\w* makes \w us|strong="G1519"\w* wise \w and|strong="G2532"\w* helps \w us|strong="G1519"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* think properly.  
\v 9 \w God|strong="G3588"\w* \w planned|strong="G4388"\w* \w it|strong="G3739"\w* \w all|strong="G1722"\w* \w a|strong="G1722"\w* long \w time|strong="G3739"\w* ago, \w and|strong="G3588"\w* nobody knew \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w it|strong="G3739"\w*. \w But|strong="G3588"\w* \w now|strong="G1722"\w* \w he|strong="G3739"\w* \w let|strong="G1107"\w* \w us|strong="G2249"\w* \w know|strong="G1722"\w* \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w it|strong="G3739"\w*. \w He|strong="G3739"\w* told \w us|strong="G2249"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w he|strong="G3739"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* using Jesus \w to|strong="G2596"\w* \w do|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w he|strong="G3739"\w* \w planned|strong="G4388"\w*, \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w make|strong="G1107"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w* happy.  
\v 10 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w at|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w right|strong="G2540"\w* \w time|strong="G2540"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* finish doing \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w things|strong="G3956"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* planned. \w He|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* \w bring|strong="G1519"\w* \w everything|strong="G3956"\w* \w together|strong="G1909"\w*, \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w things|strong="G3956"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w heaven|strong="G3772"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w things|strong="G3956"\w* \w on|strong="G1909"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w earth|strong="G1093"\w*. \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* \w bring|strong="G1519"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w together|strong="G1909"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* \w be|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* leader \w and|strong="G2532"\w* boss \w over|strong="G1909"\w* \w everything|strong="G3956"\w*.

\v 11 \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w always|strong="G3956"\w* does \w everything|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* plans. \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w a|strong="G2532"\w* long \w time|strong="G3739"\w* ago, \w he|strong="G2532"\w* picked \w us|strong="G1722"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* planned \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w join|strong="G2532"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w* Christ \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w make|strong="G2532"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w his|strong="G3956"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w*.  
\v 12 \w At|strong="G1722"\w* \w first|strong="G3588"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* picked \w the|strong="G1722"\w* Jewish \w people|strong="G1510"\w*. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w were|strong="G1510"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w first|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* trust \w Jesus|strong="G1510"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*, \w and|strong="G1391"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* wait \w for|strong="G1519"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* save \w them|strong="G3588"\w*. \w God|strong="G1519"\w* wanted \w the|strong="G1722"\w* Jews \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w be|strong="G1510"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w first|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w praise|strong="G1868"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G1391"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w say|strong="G1473"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* really great.  
\v 13 \w Now|strong="G2532"\w* \w it|strong="G2532"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w your|strong="G2532"\w* turn. \w You|strong="G5210"\w* \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w not|strong="G3739"\w* Jews, \w you|strong="G5210"\w* heard \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w news|strong="G3056"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* saves \w you|strong="G5210"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w believed|strong="G4100"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w* Christ. \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w gave|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w his|strong="G1722"\w* \w Holy|strong="G4151"\w* \w Spirit|strong="G4151"\w*, \w just|strong="G2532"\w* like \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w promised|strong="G1860"\w*. \w His|strong="G1722"\w* \w spirit|strong="G4151"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* like \w his|strong="G1722"\w* sign \w on|strong="G1722"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w*, \w to|strong="G2532"\w* show \w everyone|strong="G3739"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* belong \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*.  
\v 14 \w And|strong="G1391"\w* \w now|strong="G1510"\w* \w God|strong="G1519"\w* promises \w us|strong="G1519"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w one|strong="G3739"\w* \w day|strong="G3588"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w be|strong="G1510"\w* properly free \w from|strong="G3588"\w* doing wrong \w things|strong="G3588"\w*. \w He|strong="G3739"\w* gives \w us|strong="G1519"\w* \w the|strong="G1519"\w* Holy \w Spirit|strong="G3588"\w* \w now|strong="G1510"\w*. \w It|strong="G3739"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* \w the|strong="G1519"\w* \w first|strong="G3588"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w thing|strong="G3739"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w he|strong="G3739"\w* gives \w us|strong="G1519"\w*, \w and|strong="G1391"\w* \w it|strong="G3739"\w* shows \w us|strong="G1519"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w he|strong="G3739"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w give|strong="G1473"\w* \w us|strong="G1519"\w* \w other|strong="G3739"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w*, \w for|strong="G1519"\w* sure. \w So|strong="G1519"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* really thank \w God|strong="G1519"\w*, \w and|strong="G1391"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* \w say|strong="G1473"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w he|strong="G3739"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* really great.   
\s1 Jesus is the leader of the church

\v 15 \w Some|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w* told \w me|strong="G2504"\w* \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w*, \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* keep \w on|strong="G1722"\w* trusting \w our|strong="G2424"\w* leader \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w also|strong="G2532"\w* told \w me|strong="G2504"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* love \w God|strong="G2532"\w*’\w s|strong="G2962"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w*. \w They|strong="G2532"\w* told \w me|strong="G2504"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3956"\w*,  
\v 16 \w so|strong="G5228"\w* \w now|strong="G3756"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w never|strong="G3756"\w* \w stop|strong="G3973"\w* thanking \w God|strong="G3588"\w* \w for|strong="G5228"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w*, \w and|strong="G4160"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* always \w remember|strong="G4160"\w* \w to|strong="G1909"\w* \w pray|strong="G5228"\w* \w for|strong="G5228"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w*.  
\v 17 \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w pray|strong="G2443"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w our|strong="G2316"\w* \w very|strong="G2532"\w* \w great|strong="G2532"\w* \w father|strong="G3962"\w*, \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w of|strong="G4151"\w* \w our|strong="G2316"\w* leader \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*. \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w pray|strong="G2443"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w his|strong="G1722"\w* \w spirit|strong="G4151"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* help \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* think properly \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w show|strong="G1325"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w more|strong="G2532"\w* \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w*, \w so|strong="G2443"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* \w know|strong="G1722"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w* better.  
\v 18 \w God|strong="G1519"\w* promised \w very|strong="G3588"\w* great \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w his|strong="G1519"\w* \w people|strong="G1492"\w*, \w and|strong="G1391"\w* \w now|strong="G1510"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* \w has|strong="G5101"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w* ready \w for|strong="G1519"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w*. \w I|strong="G1510"\w* pray \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G5101"\w* show \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* clearly, like \w he|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G5101"\w* switch \w on|strong="G1722"\w* \w a|strong="G1519"\w* \w light|strong="G5461"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w your|strong="G1722"\w* \w minds|strong="G2588"\w*, \w so|strong="G1519"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w can|strong="G1492"\w* \w know|strong="G1492"\w* \w and|strong="G1391"\w* \w be|strong="G1510"\w* \w sure|strong="G1492"\w* \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w these|strong="G3588"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w*.  
\v 19 \w I|strong="G1473"\w* pray \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w you|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G5101"\w* know \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* stronger \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w more|strong="G2532"\w* \w powerful|strong="G2479"\w* \w than|strong="G2532"\w* anyone, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G5101"\w* \w use|strong="G3588"\w* \w his|strong="G1519"\w* \w power|strong="G1411"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w do|strong="G5101"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w for|strong="G1519"\w* \w all|strong="G2532"\w* \w of|strong="G2532"\w* \w us|strong="G1519"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w trust|strong="G4100"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*.  
\p \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w very|strong="G2532"\w* \w powerful|strong="G2479"\w*.  
\v 20 \w You|strong="G3739"\w* see, \w people|strong="G3588"\w* killed \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*, \w but|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* used \w his|strong="G1722"\w* power \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w make|strong="G2532"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w* alive \w again|strong="G1453"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w take|strong="G2532"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w* \w up|strong="G1453"\w* \w into|strong="G1722"\w* \w heaven|strong="G2032"\w*. \w That|strong="G3739"\w* shows \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* really powerful. \w Then|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w put|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w most|strong="G1537"\w* important \w place|strong="G1722"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w heaven|strong="G2032"\w*. \w He|strong="G2532"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w sitting|strong="G2523"\w* \w right|strong="G1188"\w* next \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*, \w on|strong="G1722"\w* \w his|strong="G1722"\w* \w right-hand|strong="G1188"\w* \w side|strong="G1188"\w*.\x * \xo 1:20 \xt Psalm 110:1\x*

\v 3 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w it|strong="G2532"\w* wasn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w only|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G3739"\w* mob \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w were|strong="G1510"\w* bad. \w We|strong="G2249"\w* \w were|strong="G1510"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* bad. \w We|strong="G2249"\w* \w were|strong="G1510"\w* \w like|strong="G5613"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w other|strong="G3062"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w this|strong="G3588"\w* world. \w We|strong="G2249"\w* \w did|strong="G4160"\w* \w whatever|strong="G3739"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* wanted \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w do|strong="G4160"\w*. \w We|strong="G2249"\w* \w did|strong="G4160"\w* \w whatever|strong="G3739"\w* \w made|strong="G4160"\w* \w us|strong="G4160"\w* feel \w good|strong="G3956"\w*. \w We|strong="G2249"\w* \w did|strong="G4160"\w* \w whatever|strong="G3739"\w* \w our|strong="G2532"\w* own bodies \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w minds|strong="G1271"\w* told \w us|strong="G4160"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w do|strong="G4160"\w*. \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w made|strong="G4160"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* angry \w with|strong="G1722"\w* \w us|strong="G4160"\w*, \w just|strong="G5613"\w* \w like|strong="G5613"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* angry \w with|strong="G1722"\w* \w everyone|strong="G3956"\w* \w else|strong="G3062"\w*.

\v 4-5 But God didn’t punish us. He felt very sorry for us. He loved us, even though we were doing bad things. It is like our spirits were dead. But he was very good to us, and he saved us. He loved us so much that he made our spirits alive, just like he made Jesus Christ alive.  
\v 6 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* joined \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w lifted|strong="G2532"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w up|strong="G1722"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* sit \w with|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w heaven|strong="G2032"\w*.  
\v 7 \w God|strong="G3588"\w* \w did|strong="G1731"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w show|strong="G1731"\w* everyone \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w very|strong="G3588"\w* \w good|strong="G5544"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w us|strong="G2249"\w*. \w He|strong="G3588"\w* showed \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* past, \w and|strong="G2424"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* shows \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w us|strong="G2249"\w* \w now|strong="G1722"\w*, \w and|strong="G2424"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1473"\w* keep \w on|strong="G1909"\w* \w showing|strong="G1731"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* everyone \w for|strong="G1909"\w* ever. \w He|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w showing|strong="G1731"\w* everyone \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* better \w than|strong="G2443"\w* anyone else. \w He|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* really \w good|strong="G5544"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* everyone \w that|strong="G2443"\w* belongs \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*.  
\v 8 \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* really \w good|strong="G1223"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w*. \w You|strong="G5210"\w* \w believed|strong="G3588"\w* \w in|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G1510"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w saved|strong="G4982"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w*. \w You|strong="G5210"\w* didn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w do|strong="G2532"\w* anything \w good|strong="G1223"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* didn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* pay \w God|strong="G2316"\w* anything, \w but|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w saved|strong="G4982"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* anyway.  
\v 9 \w You|strong="G1537"\w* can’t \w do|strong="G3361"\w* \w things|strong="G5100"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w save|strong="G3361"\w* yourself. Even \w if|strong="G2443"\w* \w you|strong="G1537"\w* \w do|strong="G3361"\w* \w a|strong="G3756"\w* lot \w of|strong="G1537"\w* \w good|strong="G3756"\w* \w things|strong="G5100"\w*, \w you|strong="G1537"\w* can’t \w save|strong="G3361"\w* yourself. \w No|strong="G3756"\w* \w way|strong="G5100"\w*. \w It|strong="G2443"\w* \w is|strong="G5100"\w* \w God|strong="G3361"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w* saves \w you|strong="G1537"\w*. Nobody can \w say|strong="G1537"\w*, “\w I|strong="G2443"\w*’m really \w good|strong="G3756"\w*, \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w is|strong="G5100"\w* \w the|strong="G1537"\w* \w reason|strong="G1537"\w* \w why|strong="G2443"\w* \w God|strong="G3361"\w* saved \w me|strong="G3756"\w*.” Nobody can talk \w like|strong="G2443"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w*. \w No|strong="G3756"\w* \w way|strong="G5100"\w*.  
\v 10 \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w one|strong="G3739"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w made|strong="G2316"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w what|strong="G3739"\w* \w we|strong="G3739"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w*, \w and|strong="G2316"\w* \w he|strong="G3739"\w* wants \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w do|strong="G1510"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w*. \w He|strong="G3739"\w* already \w has|strong="G2316"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* ready \w for|strong="G1063"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w do|strong="G1510"\w*. \w He|strong="G3739"\w* turned \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w into|strong="G1909"\w* new \w people|strong="G1510"\w*, \w and|strong="G2316"\w* \w he|strong="G3739"\w* joined \w us|strong="G1722"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*, \w so|strong="G2443"\w* \w now|strong="G1510"\w* \w we|strong="G3739"\w* \w can|strong="G1063"\w* \w do|strong="G1510"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w*.   
\s1 Jesus Christ brings us all together, Jews and other people

\v 11-12 Think about what you were at first. You were not Jews, so you didn’t belong to the special mob called Israel. And at that time you were not friends with Jesus Christ. You didn’t know that God promised to send him to save us. And before, when God promised to look after the Israel mob if they agreed to keep his law, he didn’t promise that to you. You didn’t know anything about those things. You were living without God, and there was nothing good for you in this world. You didn’t know anything about the young man operation that God told the Jewish people to do on all their boys. That’s the reason why the Jewish people rubbish you. But don’t worry about that. They are only talking about the operation that people do to their bodies. They are not talking about the job that God does inside us.  
\v 13 \w But|strong="G1161"\w* \w now|strong="G1161"\w* \w it|strong="G1161"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* different \w for|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w*. \w At|strong="G1722"\w* \w first|strong="G3588"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w were|strong="G1510"\w* \w far|strong="G3112"\w* \w away|strong="G3112"\w* \w from|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G3588"\w*, \w but|strong="G1161"\w* \w then|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w believed|strong="G3588"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*. \w You|strong="G5210"\w* \w believed|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w he|strong="G1161"\w* \w died|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G1161"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w his|strong="G1722"\w* blood \w came|strong="G1096"\w* \w out|strong="G1096"\w* \w for|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w*. \w Then|strong="G1161"\w* \w God|strong="G3588"\w* \w joined|strong="G1096"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*, \w and|strong="G1161"\w* \w he|strong="G1161"\w* \w brought|strong="G1096"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* really \w close|strong="G1451"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* himself.

\v 14 \w You|strong="G1722"\w* see, \w you|strong="G1722"\w* mob \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* \w not|strong="G1510"\w* Jews, \w you|strong="G1722"\w* \w were|strong="G1510"\w* \w enemies|strong="G2189"\w* \w with|strong="G1722"\w* \w us|strong="G4160"\w* Jewish mob \w at|strong="G1722"\w* \w first|strong="G1520"\w*. \w There|strong="G2532"\w* \w was|strong="G1510"\w* \w something|strong="G1510"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w made|strong="G4160"\w* \w us|strong="G4160"\w* \w enemies|strong="G2189"\w* \w with|strong="G1722"\w* each \w other|strong="G1520"\w*. \w It|strong="G2532"\w* \w was|strong="G1510"\w* like \w a|strong="G2532"\w* \w wall|strong="G5418"\w* standing \w between|strong="G1722"\w* \w us|strong="G4160"\w*. \w But|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G1510"\w* \w broke|strong="G3089"\w* \w down|strong="G3089"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w wall|strong="G5418"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w brought|strong="G2532"\w* \w us|strong="G4160"\w* \w together|strong="G2532"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w made|strong="G4160"\w* \w us|strong="G4160"\w* \w become|strong="G1510"\w* \w one|strong="G1520"\w* new group. \w He|strong="G2532"\w* \w has|strong="G1510"\w* \w made|strong="G4160"\w* \w us|strong="G4160"\w* friends \w with|strong="G1722"\w* each \w other|strong="G1520"\w* \w now|strong="G2532"\w*.  
\v 15-16 You know, Jesus let people kill his body, and he died for all of us. When he did that, he made all those Jewish laws useless, along with all their rules. Jesus Christ died on the cross for everybody. He died for the Jewish people, and he died for the people that are not Jews. When he died, he stopped the Jews from being enemies with other people, and he brought both mobs to God, to be God’s friends. \v 20-22 I will use a house as a picture story. It is like God used Jesus and all his people to build a special house for himself. He used Jesus Christ to start building that house. He is the most important one. Then God used Jesus’s special workers, and the other people that told God’s messages. They are like the cement slab that the house sits on. Now God is using you mob, with us Jewish mob, to make the rest of the house. It is like God’s people are the bricks and the wood. You mob are not Jews, but you are still part of that house. God’s spirit carefully joins us together, to make that house bigger all the time, and God lives in his special house. That picture of a house shows us that God is living in us all the time.

\v 1 \w You|strong="G5210"\w* mob know \w about|strong="G5228"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w*, \w Paul|strong="G3972"\w*, \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w am|strong="G1473"\w* \w in|strong="G5228"\w* jail now. \w You|strong="G5210"\w* see, \w I|strong="G1473"\w* told \w you|strong="G5210"\w* mob \w the|strong="G3588"\w* message \w about|strong="G5228"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*. \w But|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G3588"\w* bosses didn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* like \w me|strong="G1473"\w* talking \w about|strong="G5228"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w to|strong="G2424"\w* \w people|strong="G1484"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w not|strong="G3778"\w* Jews. \w So|strong="G3778"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w put|strong="G2424"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w* \w in|strong="G5228"\w* jail.  
\v 2 \w And|strong="G2316"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* know \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w was|strong="G3588"\w* \w very|strong="G3588"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w me|strong="G1325"\w*, \w and|strong="G2316"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* picked \w me|strong="G1325"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* tell \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w his|strong="G1519"\w* message.  
\v 3 \w You|strong="G3754"\w* see, \w a|strong="G1722"\w* \w long|strong="G3641"\w* \w time|strong="G3641"\w* ago, \w God|strong="G3588"\w* planned \w to|strong="G2596"\w* save \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w not|strong="G1473"\w* Jews, \w as|strong="G2531"\w* \w well|strong="G1722"\w* \w as|strong="G2531"\w* Jewish \w people|strong="G3588"\w*. \w At|strong="G1722"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* \w time|strong="G3641"\w* \w he|strong="G3754"\w* didn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w tell|strong="G1107"\w* everybody \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w it|strong="G3754"\w*, \w but|strong="G3588"\w* later \w he|strong="G3754"\w* told \w it|strong="G3754"\w* \w to|strong="G2596"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w*. \v 4 \w When|strong="G1722"\w* \w you|strong="G3739"\w* read \w those|strong="G3588"\w* words, \w you|strong="G3739"\w* \w will|strong="G3739"\w* \w understand|strong="G3539"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w know|strong="G1722"\w* \w what|strong="G3739"\w* \w God|strong="G4314"\w* planned \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*.  
\v 5 \w God|strong="G2532"\w* didn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w tell|strong="G3568"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* message \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w lived|strong="G2532"\w* \w before|strong="G1722"\w* \w me|strong="G3756"\w*. \w But|strong="G2532"\w* \w now|strong="G3568"\w*, \w God|strong="G2532"\w* picked \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w*’s special workers \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w other|strong="G2087"\w* \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w tell|strong="G3568"\w* \w his|strong="G1722"\w* messages, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*’s \w spirit|strong="G4151"\w* told \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w his|strong="G1722"\w* plan.\x * \xo 3:5 \xt Colossians 1:26-27\x*  
\v 6 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w this|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* \w what|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* planned. \w He|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w be|strong="G1510"\w* \w good|strong="G1223"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* everyone \w that|strong="G3588"\w* believes \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w good|strong="G1223"\w* \w news|strong="G2098"\w* \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*. \w It|strong="G2532"\w* doesn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* matter \w if|strong="G2532"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* Jews, \w or|strong="G2532"\w* \w not|strong="G1510"\w* Jews. \w If|strong="G2532"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* believe \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*, \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* save \w them|strong="G3588"\w*. \w Both|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w get|strong="G2532"\w* \w what|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w promised|strong="G1860"\w*. \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w both|strong="G2532"\w* \w belong|strong="G1510"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w same|strong="G2532"\w* mob \w now|strong="G2532"\w*. \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w both|strong="G2532"\w* \w belong|strong="G1510"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*, \w just|strong="G2532"\w* like arms \w and|strong="G2532"\w* legs \w belong|strong="G1510"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w same|strong="G2532"\w* \w body|strong="G4954"\w*.

Then \w he|strong="G3739"\w* \w gave|strong="G1325"\w* \w me|strong="G1325"\w* \w this|strong="G3588"\w* special job. \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w have|strong="G1473"\w* \w to|strong="G2596"\w* tell \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w this|strong="G3588"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* news \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G1096"\w*.  
\v 8 \w I|strong="G1473"\w*’m \w not|strong="G3778"\w* important. \w All|strong="G3956"\w* \w of|strong="G5485"\w* \w God|strong="G1325"\w*’s \w people|strong="G1484"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w more|strong="G3956"\w* important than \w me|strong="G1325"\w*. \w But|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G1325"\w* \w was|strong="G3588"\w* \w good|strong="G2097"\w* \w to|strong="G1325"\w* \w me|strong="G1325"\w*, \w and|strong="G1484"\w* \w he|strong="G3778"\w* \w gave|strong="G1325"\w* \w me|strong="G1325"\w* \w this|strong="G3778"\w* special job. \w He|strong="G3778"\w* sent \w me|strong="G1325"\w* \w to|strong="G1325"\w* tell \w the|strong="G3956"\w* \w people|strong="G1484"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w not|strong="G3778"\w* Jews \w about|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G3956"\w* really \w great|strong="G3956"\w* \w things|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G3778"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w* \w can|strong="G1325"\w* \w give|strong="G1325"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w*. \w These|strong="G3778"\w* \w things|strong="G3956"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w so|strong="G3778"\w* \w great|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* nobody \w can|strong="G1325"\w* understand \w them|strong="G3588"\w* properly.  
\v 9 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w sent|strong="G2316"\w* me \w to|strong="G2532"\w* help \w everyone|strong="G3956"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* understand \w the|strong="G1722"\w* message \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w his|strong="G3956"\w* plan. \w A|strong="G2532"\w* long \w time|strong="G1722"\w* ago, \w when|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w made|strong="G2316"\w* \w everything|strong="G3956"\w*, \w he|strong="G2532"\w* didn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* tell \w anyone|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* message. \w He|strong="G2532"\w* \w kept|strong="G2532"\w* \w it|strong="G2532"\w* secret \w at|strong="G1722"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w time|strong="G1722"\w*.  
\v 10 \w But|strong="G2532"\w* \w now|strong="G3568"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* wants everyone \w to|strong="G2443"\w* hear \w that|strong="G2443"\w* message. \w He|strong="G2532"\w* wants \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w use|strong="G3588"\w* \w his|strong="G1223"\w* \w church|strong="G1577"\w* \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* show \w all|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w spirit|strong="G3588"\w* bosses, everywhere, \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* really wise, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* understands \w all|strong="G2532"\w* \w about|strong="G1722"\w* everything.  
\v 11 \w God|strong="G2962"\w* always planned \w to|strong="G2596"\w* save \w people|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G2962"\w* \w he|strong="G3739"\w* \w sent|strong="G2424"\w* \w our|strong="G2424"\w* leader, \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*, \w to|strong="G2596"\w* \w do|strong="G4160"\w* \w it|strong="G4160"\w*.

\v 12 \w We|strong="G3739"\w* \w trust|strong="G4006"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G3739"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* joined \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*, \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G3739"\w* can \w come|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G3739"\w* can \w be|strong="G2532"\w* sure \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* listen \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w*. \w We|strong="G3739"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w have|strong="G2192"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w be|strong="G2532"\w* frightened \w of|strong="G1223"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*.  
\v 13 \w So|strong="G1352"\w* \w when|strong="G1722"\w* \w some|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w* \w make|strong="G3361"\w* \w trouble|strong="G2347"\w* \w for|strong="G5228"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w*, don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w let|strong="G1510"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* worry \w you|strong="G5210"\w*. \w I|strong="G1473"\w* tell \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w God|strong="G3361"\w*’s \w word|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G1391"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* like \w it|strong="G1510"\w*, \w so|strong="G1352"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w make|strong="G3361"\w* \w trouble|strong="G2347"\w* \w for|strong="G5228"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w*. \w But|strong="G3361"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* worry. \w I|strong="G1473"\w* want \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* \w be|strong="G1510"\w* strong. \w You|strong="G5210"\w* can always feel happy whenever \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w make|strong="G3361"\w* \w trouble|strong="G2347"\w* \w for|strong="G5228"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w*.

\v 18-19 I pray for you, and for all God’s people. I pray that you will know, in a powerful way, that Jesus Christ loves us very much. He loves us so much that nobody can properly know all about it. But I want you to understand that he loves everybody very much, so that you will become like him in every way, and you will live the good way he wants you to live.

\v 20-21 We have to thank God now. His power works in us, and he does really great things. He can do a lot more than we can ask him for. He can even do more than we can think about. And we are God’s people. We are his church. So we always have to praise God and show everyone that he is very great and good. We have to show them what Jesus Christ does, and that he is really great. And we have to keep on doing it for ever and ever. Yes, that’s right.

\v 9 \w That|strong="G3754"\w* \w man|strong="G3361"\w* wrote, “\w He|strong="G2532"\w* \w went|strong="G2597"\w* \w up|strong="G1519"\w*.” \w But|strong="G1161"\w* think \w about|strong="G1519"\w* \w it|strong="G2532"\w*. \w He|strong="G2532"\w* couldn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w go|strong="G2597"\w* \w up|strong="G1519"\w* \w unless|strong="G1487"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w first|strong="G3588"\w* \w came|strong="G2597"\w* \w down|strong="G2597"\w*. \w You|strong="G1487"\w* see, \w at|strong="G1519"\w* \w first|strong="G3588"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G1510"\w* Christ \w came|strong="G2597"\w* \w down|strong="G2597"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w the|strong="G2532"\w* low \w parts|strong="G3313"\w* \w of|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G2532"\w* \w earth|strong="G1093"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w after|strong="G1161"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w went|strong="G2597"\w* \w back|strong="G1519"\w* \w up|strong="G1519"\w*.  
\v 10 \w It|strong="G2532"\w* \w was|strong="G1510"\w* \w the|strong="G2532"\w* \w same|strong="G2532"\w* \w man|strong="G3956"\w*, \w Jesus|strong="G1510"\w*, \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w came|strong="G2597"\w* \w down|strong="G2597"\w* \w here|strong="G1510"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w then|strong="G2532"\w* \w went|strong="G2597"\w* \w up|strong="G4137"\w* \w high|strong="G3956"\w*, right \w up|strong="G4137"\w* \w above|strong="G5231"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w the|strong="G2532"\w* \w sky|strong="G3772"\w*. \w So|strong="G2443"\w* \w now|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* can \w be|strong="G1510"\w* everywhere.

\v 11-12 And Jesus Christ gives these special gifts to his people, so that they can help other people in the church. These gifts are the powers he gives to Christians. He gave some of his people the power to be his special workers, and he sent them out to other people to tell them his good news. And he gave other Christians the power to tell God’s messages to people. And he gave some of them the power to help other people to believe in Jesus. And he gave some Christians the power to be pastors, to look after Christians and teach them God’s way. God gave all these powers to his people to get them ready, so that they can work together for him. God works like that, so that his people get stronger, and so that more people join his family. We are like the body of Jesus Christ here on earth, and he wants that body to get bigger and stronger.  
\v 13 \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* keep \w on|strong="G1519"\w* using \w the|strong="G2532"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w with|strong="G2532"\w* \w this|strong="G3588"\w* spiritual \w power|strong="G2316"\w* \w until|strong="G3360"\w* \w we|strong="G2532"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w join|strong="G2532"\w* \w in|strong="G1519"\w* \w together|strong="G2532"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G2532"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w work|strong="G3956"\w* \w together|strong="G2532"\w* properly. \w We|strong="G2532"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w believe|strong="G4102"\w* \w in|strong="G1519"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w*’s \w son|strong="G5207"\w*, \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G2532"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w have|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w work|strong="G3956"\w* \w together|strong="G2532"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G2532"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w have|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w get|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* know \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w* better. \w Then|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G2532"\w*, \w God|strong="G2316"\w*’s \w people|strong="G3956"\w*, \w will|strong="G2316"\w* become \w like|strong="G5207"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w* \w himself|strong="G1519"\w*. \w We|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* become \w what|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* wants \w us|strong="G1519"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w be|strong="G2532"\w*.

\v 14 \w So|strong="G2443"\w* \w then|strong="G2532"\w* liars \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w not|strong="G1510"\w* trick \w us|strong="G1722"\w*, \w like|strong="G4314"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* trick little kids. Lots \w of|strong="G2532"\w* tricky \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* try \w to|strong="G4314"\w* teach \w us|strong="G1722"\w* new messages \w that|strong="G2443"\w* sound \w good|strong="G3956"\w*, \w but|strong="G2532"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* wrong. \w But|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w not|strong="G1510"\w* \w be|strong="G1510"\w* \w like|strong="G4314"\w* little kids. \w We|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w not|strong="G1510"\w* believe \w their|strong="G2532"\w* lies. Instead, \w we|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w be|strong="G1510"\w* \w strong|strong="G2532"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w not|strong="G1510"\w* stop believing \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w true|strong="G3588"\w* message.  
\v 15 \w We|strong="G3739"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* love \w people|strong="G3956"\w*, \w and|strong="G1161"\w* \w at|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w same|strong="G3739"\w* \w time|strong="G3739"\w* \w we|strong="G3739"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* tell \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w true|strong="G3588"\w* message. \w Then|strong="G1161"\w* \w we|strong="G3739"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* get stronger \w for|strong="G1519"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G1510"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w* \w and|strong="G1161"\w* \w become|strong="G1510"\w* \w more|strong="G3956"\w* like \w him|strong="G3588"\w*. \w It|strong="G1161"\w*’s like \w we|strong="G3739"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* \w his|strong="G3956"\w* \w body|strong="G1519"\w*, \w and|strong="G1161"\w* \w he|strong="G1161"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w head|strong="G2776"\w*.  
\v 16 \w He|strong="G2532"\w* holds \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w whole|strong="G3956"\w* \w body|strong="G4983"\w* \w together|strong="G4822"\w*. \w He|strong="G2532"\w*’s \w like|strong="G2596"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* strings \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w a|strong="G2532"\w* \w body|strong="G4983"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w join|strong="G2532"\w* \w every|strong="G3956"\w* \w part|strong="G3313"\w* \w together|strong="G4822"\w*. \w Each|strong="G1538"\w* \w of|strong="G1537"\w* \w us|strong="G4160"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w a|strong="G2532"\w* different \w part|strong="G3313"\w* \w of|strong="G1537"\w* \w his|strong="G1438"\w* \w body|strong="G4983"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w if|strong="G2532"\w* \w every|strong="G3956"\w* \w one|strong="G1520"\w* \w of|strong="G1537"\w* \w us|strong="G4160"\w* \w does|strong="G4160"\w* \w our|strong="G2532"\w* job properly, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w if|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G3739"\w* love \w each|strong="G1538"\w* \w other|strong="G1520"\w*, \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w whole|strong="G3956"\w* \w body|strong="G4983"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* grow, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w it|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* \w get|strong="G2532"\w* stronger.\x * \xo 4:16 \xt Colossians 2:19\x*

\v 17 \w I|strong="G2532"\w*’m \w telling|strong="G3004"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w this|strong="G3778"\w* message \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w our|strong="G2532"\w* leader, \w Jesus|strong="G3004"\w*, wants \w me|strong="G3004"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w tell|strong="G3004"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w*, \w so|strong="G3767"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w have|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w take|strong="G2532"\w* notice \w of|strong="G2532"\w* \w it|strong="G2532"\w*. Don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w live|strong="G4043"\w* \w any|strong="G1722"\w* \w more|strong="G3371"\w* \w like|strong="G2531"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w people|strong="G1484"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w know|strong="G1722"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*. \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w can|strong="G3004"\w*’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* think straight.  
\v 18 \w They|strong="G3588"\w* can’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* understand anything properly. \w It|strong="G1223"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* like \w their|strong="G1722"\w* \w minds|strong="G1271"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w darkness|strong="G4656"\w*. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* want \w to|strong="G1722"\w* \w know|strong="G1722"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w*, \w and|strong="G2316"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* \w a|strong="G1722"\w* long \w way|strong="G1722"\w* away \w from|strong="G3588"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*. \w He|strong="G3588"\w* doesn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* give \w them|strong="G3588"\w* new \w life|strong="G2222"\w*. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w do|strong="G1510"\w* bad \w things|strong="G3588"\w*, \w but|strong="G2316"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* never feel sorry \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w it|strong="G1223"\w*.  
\v 19 \w They|strong="G3588"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w know|strong="G1722"\w* \w what|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w right|strong="G1519"\w*, \w or|strong="G3588"\w* \w what|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* wrong, \w any|strong="G3956"\w* \w more|strong="G3956"\w*. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w only|strong="G1438"\w* want \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w do|strong="G1722"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* sorts \w of|strong="G1722"\w* bad \w things|strong="G3956"\w*, \w and|strong="G3956"\w* dirty \w things|strong="G3956"\w*, \w and|strong="G3956"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* really want \w to|strong="G1519"\w* keep \w on|strong="G1722"\w* doing \w those|strong="G3588"\w* wrong \w things|strong="G3956"\w*.

\v 20 \w But|strong="G1161"\w* \w when|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* \w learned|strong="G3129"\w* \w about|strong="G3588"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G3756"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*, \w you|strong="G5210"\w* didn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w learn|strong="G3129"\w* \w to|strong="G3756"\w* live \w in|strong="G3756"\w* \w a|strong="G1161"\w* bad \w way|strong="G3779"\w* \w like|strong="G3779"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w*.  
\v 21 \w I|strong="G2532"\w*’m sure \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w you|strong="G1487"\w* heard \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* story \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G1487"\w* learned \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w true|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w taught|strong="G1321"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w*.  
\v 22 \w You|strong="G5210"\w* learned \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w we|strong="G3588"\w* \w all|strong="G2596"\w* \w have|strong="G5210"\w* \w a|strong="G2596"\w* bad \w part|strong="G2596"\w* inside us \w that|strong="G3588"\w* gets us \w to|strong="G2596"\w* only think \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w what|strong="G3588"\w* \w we|strong="G3588"\w* want \w for|strong="G2596"\w* ourselves, \w and|strong="G3588"\w* \w it|strong="G3588"\w* gets us \w to|strong="G2596"\w* go wrong, \w and|strong="G3588"\w* \w it|strong="G3588"\w* gets us \w to|strong="G2596"\w* \w do|strong="G3588"\w* bad \w things|strong="G3588"\w*. \w And|strong="G3588"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* learned \w that|strong="G3588"\w* now \w we|strong="G3588"\w* \w have|strong="G5210"\w* \w to|strong="G2596"\w* turn \w around|strong="G2596"\w* \w and|strong="G3588"\w* stop doing \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w*. \w So|strong="G2596"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* take any notice \w of|strong="G2596"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w old|strong="G3820"\w* bad \w part|strong="G2596"\w* inside \w you|strong="G5210"\w*. Don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* think \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* bad \w things|strong="G3588"\w* any \w more|strong="G2596"\w*,\x * \xo 4:22 \xt Colossians 3:9\x*

Don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* believe \w their|strong="G1223"\w* lies. \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* get really angry \w with|strong="G1223"\w* \w people|strong="G3778"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w do|strong="G1223"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* bad \w things|strong="G3778"\w*, \w and|strong="G2064"\w* \w he|strong="G3778"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* punish \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G3778"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* \w not|strong="G3367"\w* listen \w to|strong="G1909"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w* \w or|strong="G3588"\w* \w do|strong="G1223"\w* \w what|strong="G3588"\w* \w he|strong="G3778"\w* \w says|strong="G3056"\w*.  
\v 7 \w So|strong="G3767"\w* don’t join \w in|strong="G1096"\w* \w with|strong="G1096"\w* \w people|strong="G3361"\w* \w that|strong="G1096"\w* tell \w you|strong="G3767"\w* \w to|strong="G1096"\w* \w do|strong="G1096"\w* bad things. Don’t \w do|strong="G1096"\w* \w what|strong="G1096"\w* \w those|strong="G3767"\w* \w people|strong="G3361"\w* \w do|strong="G1096"\w*.

\v 11 \w People|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* belong \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G2532"\w* \w darkness|strong="G4655"\w* \w do|strong="G2532"\w* \w wrong|strong="G1651"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w*. Don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w ever|strong="G3361"\w* \w join|strong="G2532"\w* \w in|strong="G2532"\w* \w with|strong="G2532"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w*. Don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w do|strong="G2532"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w wrong|strong="G1651"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* useless, \w but|strong="G1161"\w* \w instead|strong="G3123"\w*, \w tell|strong="G1651"\w* everybody \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w wrong|strong="G1651"\w*.

\v 12 \w You|strong="G3754"\w* see, \w we|strong="G2249"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* \w not|strong="G3756"\w* fighting \w against|strong="G4314"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w*, \w but|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* fighting \w against|strong="G4314"\w* \w a|strong="G2532"\w* big mob \w of|strong="G2532"\w* bad spirits. \w We|strong="G2249"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* fighting \w against|strong="G4314"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* bad \w spirit|strong="G3588"\w* bosses \w that|strong="G3754"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* can’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* see \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w this|strong="G3778"\w* bad \w world|strong="G2888"\w*. \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* fighting \w against|strong="G4314"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* powerful bad spirits \w that|strong="G3754"\w* \w live|strong="G2532"\w* above \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w earth|strong="G4561"\w* \w too|strong="G2532"\w*.  
\v 13 \w So|strong="G2443"\w* \w you|strong="G1722"\w* \w have|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w use|strong="G3588"\w* \w all|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* special gear \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w gives|strong="G1223"\w* \w you|strong="G1722"\w*, \w so|strong="G2443"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w you|strong="G1722"\w* \w can|strong="G1410"\w* \w stand|strong="G2476"\w* \w up|strong="G2476"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w bad|strong="G4190"\w* spirits whenever \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w come|strong="G2532"\w* \w at|strong="G1722"\w* \w you|strong="G1722"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* \w not|strong="G1410"\w* win. \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w at|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w end|strong="G3778"\w* \w of|strong="G2250"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* fight, \w you|strong="G1722"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* \w still|strong="G2476"\w* \w be|strong="G2532"\w* \w standing|strong="G2476"\w* \w strong|strong="G2532"\w*.

\v 14 \w So|strong="G3767"\w* \w put|strong="G1746"\w* \w on|strong="G1722"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* special gear \w from|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*, \w so|strong="G3767"\w* \w you|strong="G5210"\w* can \w stand|strong="G2476"\w* \w up|strong="G2476"\w* \w against|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* devil. \w This|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w what|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* gear \w is|strong="G3588"\w*.  
\li1 – You know that a soldier wears a belt, to hold his clothes on tight, so he can move quickly in a fight. Well, just like that, you take notice of what is true, so you can fight better against the devil.  
\li1 – And a soldier wears an iron plate, to stop the enemy from hitting his chest. \v 15 And a soldier wears special shoes, so that he can always be ready to fight. Well, you have to remember the good news about Jesus, that he makes us God’s friends. Then you will be ready to fight the devil.\x * \xo 6:15 \xt Isaiah 52:7\x*

\v 16 You know that a soldier always has a shield, to stop the spears that the enemy throws at him. In the same way, you have to always trust God. Whenever you do that, it is like you are holding up a shield that stops the things that the devil throws at you. They are like burning spears, but if you trust God, he will stop them and put them out.

\v 17 And a soldier wears an iron hat, that stops the enemy from hurting his head. Well, you remember that God has saved you. That will be like an iron hat for you, to keep you safe.  
\li1 – And you know the long knife a soldier has, called a sword? He uses it to fight back against his enemy. Well, in the same way, you can use God’s word to fight back against the devil, and the Holy Spirit will help you.\x * \xo 6:17 \xt Isaiah 59:17\x*

\v 18 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w always|strong="G3956"\w* \w pray|strong="G4336"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w way|strong="G1722"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*’s \w spirit|strong="G4151"\w* \w leads|strong="G1519"\w* \w you|strong="G1722"\w*. \w Pray|strong="G4336"\w* \w about|strong="G4012"\w* \w every|strong="G3956"\w* problem, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w pray|strong="G4336"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* sorts \w of|strong="G4012"\w* ways, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* ask \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w for|strong="G1519"\w* \w whatever|strong="G3956"\w* \w you|strong="G1722"\w* need. \w So|strong="G2532"\w* \w always|strong="G3956"\w* keep \w on|strong="G1722"\w* \w praying|strong="G4336"\w* \w for|strong="G1519"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*’s \w people|strong="G3956"\w*.  
\v 19 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w pray|strong="G2443"\w* \w for|strong="G5228"\w* \w me|strong="G1325"\w* \w too|strong="G2532"\w*.
