\imt1 About this letter  
\ip Paul wrote this letter to Timothy about 2,000 years ago, more than 30 years after Jesus went back to heaven, and it is now in the Holy Bible.  
\ip God sent Paul to lots of countries to tell people about Jesus. Timothy heard what Paul said, and he believed in Jesus. After that, he went with Paul and helped him do his work (see Acts 16:1-3). At a town called Ephesus, Paul told Timothy to stay and be the pastor of the church there.  
\ip At that time, the Roman people were the bosses over lots of nations. They didn’t like Paul telling people about Jesus, so they grabbed him, and they put him in jail, in Rome. Paul wrote this 2nd letter to Timothy from jail. Paul knew that the Roman bosses were going to kill him, and he wanted to see Timothy again before he died.  
\ip Paul wrote this 2nd letter to Timothy a few years after he wrote the 1st letter to Timothy.  
\ip This letter has important messages for us Christians today, especially for ministers and pastors. It can help church leaders work out how to properly look after the people in their churches.

\v 1-2 Dear Timothy,  
\p I am Paul, and this letter is from me. God picked me out to be Jesus Christ’s special worker. He gave me this job, to tell other people that they can believe in Jesus, and then they will live with God for ever. God promises to do that for us.  
\p Timothy, I love you like you are my own son. I pray to God our father, and to Jesus Christ our leader, that they will show you that they love you. I am asking them to be good to you, and to make you feel happy and quiet inside yourself.

\v 7 \w God|strong="G2316"\w*’s \w spirit|strong="G4151"\w* \w in|strong="G2532"\w* \w us|strong="G1325"\w* doesn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w make|strong="G1325"\w* \w us|strong="G1325"\w* frightened, \w but|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* helps \w us|strong="G1325"\w* \w be|strong="G2532"\w* \w strong|strong="G2532"\w* \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w we|strong="G2249"\w* \w do|strong="G2532"\w* \w great|strong="G2532"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* helps \w us|strong="G1325"\w* love \w people|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* helps \w us|strong="G1325"\w* control \w ourselves|strong="G2249"\w*.

\v 8 \w You|strong="G3767"\w* \w have|strong="G1473"\w* \w to|strong="G2596"\w* tell \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w our|strong="G2316"\w* leader \w Jesus|strong="G2962"\w*. Don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* feel shame \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w*. \w And|strong="G2316"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* feel shame \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w* \w because|strong="G2596"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w*’m \w in|strong="G2596"\w* jail. \w I|strong="G1473"\w*’m here \w because|strong="G2596"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* told \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2962"\w*. \w But|strong="G3361"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* worry. \w Just|strong="G2596"\w* go ahead anyway \w and|strong="G2316"\w* tell \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w our|strong="G2316"\w* leader \w Jesus|strong="G2962"\w*. \w And|strong="G2316"\w* \w then|strong="G3767"\w* maybe \w some|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w might|strong="G1411"\w* \w make|strong="G3361"\w* trouble \w for|strong="G2316"\w* \w you|strong="G3767"\w*, \w just|strong="G2596"\w* \w like|strong="G2596"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w made|strong="G2316"\w* trouble \w for|strong="G2316"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w*. \w But|strong="G3361"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* \w make|strong="G3361"\w* \w you|strong="G3767"\w* strong, \w and|strong="G2316"\w* \w you|strong="G3767"\w* \w will|strong="G2316"\w* \w not|strong="G3361"\w* worry \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* trouble.  
\v 9 \w It|strong="G2532"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G1325"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w saved|strong="G4982"\w* \w us|strong="G1325"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* picked \w us|strong="G1325"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w be|strong="G2532"\w* \w his|strong="G1722"\w* \w own|strong="G2398"\w* specially \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G3588"\w*. \w We|strong="G2249"\w* didn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w do|strong="G2532"\w* anything \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w get|strong="G4982"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w like|strong="G2596"\w* \w us|strong="G1325"\w*, \w but|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w was|strong="G3588"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w us|strong="G1325"\w* anyway. \w He|strong="G2532"\w* \w sent|strong="G2424"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w come|strong="G2532"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w save|strong="G4982"\w* \w us|strong="G1325"\w*. \w God|strong="G1325"\w* planned \w all|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w a|strong="G2532"\w* \w long|strong="G5550"\w* \w time|strong="G5550"\w* \w ago|strong="G4253"\w*, \w even|strong="G2532"\w* \w before|strong="G4253"\w* \w time|strong="G5550"\w* started,  
\v 10 \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w now|strong="G1161"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* makes \w it|strong="G2532"\w* \w clear|strong="G5319"\w* \w for|strong="G1223"\w* \w us|strong="G2249"\w* \w all|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w see|strong="G5461"\w*. \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w came|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* save \w people|strong="G3588"\w*, \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w if|strong="G2532"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* believe \w the|strong="G2532"\w* \w good|strong="G1223"\w* \w news|strong="G2098"\w* \w about|strong="G3588"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*, \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* \w not|strong="G1223"\w* stay dead \w after|strong="G1161"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w die|strong="G2288"\w*, \w but|strong="G1161"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* \w live|strong="G2532"\w* \w for|strong="G1223"\w* ever.

\v 11 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w gave|strong="G2532"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w* \w this|strong="G3739"\w* job, \w to|strong="G1519"\w* tell \w everyone|strong="G3739"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w good|strong="G2532"\w* story, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G1519"\w* teach \w everyone|strong="G3739"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w* can save \w them|strong="G3739"\w*.\x * \xo 1:11 \xt 1 Timothy 2:7\x*  
\v 12 \w So|strong="G2532"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w tell|strong="G1492"\w* \w everyone|strong="G3739"\w* \w about|strong="G1519"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*. \w Those|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G1492"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w like|strong="G3958"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G1565"\w*, \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w make|strong="G1519"\w* trouble \w for|strong="G1063"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w*. \w But|strong="G2532"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w know|strong="G1492"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w believe|strong="G4100"\w* \w in|strong="G1519"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*, \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* feel shame \w when|strong="G2532"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w get|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* trouble. \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w know|strong="G1492"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w look|strong="G1492"\w* \w after|strong="G1223"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w* \w right|strong="G3756"\w* \w up|strong="G1519"\w* \w until|strong="G1519"\w* \w the|strong="G2532"\w* \w day|strong="G2250"\w* \w when|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G1565"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w come|strong="G1510"\w* \w back|strong="G1519"\w*.

\v 13-14 Whenever you teach people, you have to make sure that you tell them the same true message that I told you before. Don’t let anyone get you to change it into a wrong message. That message is something really special, and you really have to look after it properly. The Holy Spirit lives in us, and he will help you look after it properly. So you have to make sure you keep on believing in Jesus Christ, and keep on loving people just like he does. You are joined to him now, so you can do that.

\v 15 \w You|strong="G3739"\w* probably \w know|strong="G1492"\w* \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* \w came|strong="G2532"\w* \w here|strong="G1510"\w* \w from|strong="G2532"\w* \w Asia|strong="G3588"\w*. \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* left \w me|strong="G1473"\w* \w now|strong="G2532"\w*. \w Even|strong="G2532"\w* Figelus \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w Hermogenes|strong="G2061"\w* left \w me|strong="G1473"\w*. \w It|strong="G2532"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* like \w they|strong="G2532"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* want \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w know|strong="G1492"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w* \w any|strong="G3956"\w* \w more|strong="G2532"\w*.  
\v 16-18 But Onesiforus wasn’t like that. He came here to Rome and looked everywhere for me. And when he found me here in jail, he didn’t feel shame. He often came and cheered me up. So I pray that Jesus, our leader, will be really good to his family. And you already know about that time that he was over there in Ephesus with me, and he helped me in lots of ways. One day our leader will judge everyone, and I pray that he will be good to Onesiforus and his family on that day.

\v 1 \w So|strong="G3767"\w* Timothy, \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* like \w my|strong="G1722"\w* own \w son|strong="G5043"\w* \w now|strong="G3767"\w*. \w I|strong="G1473"\w* want \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* \w be|strong="G3588"\w* \w strong|strong="G1743"\w*. \w And|strong="G2424"\w* if \w you|strong="G4771"\w* always stay joined \w up|strong="G1722"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*, \w you|strong="G4771"\w* can \w do|strong="G1722"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w*. \w You|strong="G4771"\w* see, \w he|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* always \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w*, \w and|strong="G2424"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1473"\w* help \w you|strong="G4771"\w*.

\v 2 \w You|strong="G3739"\w* heard \w me|strong="G1473"\w* tell \w those|strong="G3778"\w* \w true|strong="G4103"\w* \w things|strong="G3778"\w* \w about|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G1510"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* lots \w of|strong="G1223"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w*, \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G3739"\w* \w have|strong="G2532"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w teach|strong="G1321"\w* \w those|strong="G3778"\w* \w things|strong="G3778"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w more|strong="G4183"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w*. Pick \w good|strong="G1223"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w everyone|strong="G3739"\w* respects, \w then|strong="G2532"\w* \w teach|strong="G1321"\w* \w them|strong="G3739"\w* \w those|strong="G3778"\w* \w things|strong="G3778"\w*, \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* can \w go|strong="G3739"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w other|strong="G2087"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w teach|strong="G1321"\w* \w them|strong="G3739"\w* \w those|strong="G3778"\w* \w same|strong="G3778"\w* \w things|strong="G3778"\w*.

\v 3 Remember \w that|strong="G5613"\w* \w you|strong="G5613"\w* belong \w to|strong="G2424"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*. \w You|strong="G5613"\w* \w are|strong="G5547"\w* \w like|strong="G5613"\w* \w his|strong="G5613"\w* \w soldier|strong="G4757"\w*. \w If|strong="G5613"\w* \w soldiers|strong="G4757"\w* get hurt, \w they|strong="G5613"\w* don’t stop fighting. \w They|strong="G5613"\w* \w just|strong="G5613"\w* forget \w their|strong="G5613"\w* pain \w and|strong="G2424"\w* keep \w going|strong="G2424"\w*. \w Well|strong="G2570"\w*, \w you|strong="G5613"\w* \w have|strong="G5547"\w* \w to|strong="G2424"\w* \w be|strong="G5547"\w* \w like|strong="G5613"\w* \w that|strong="G5613"\w* \w now|strong="G5613"\w*. \w If|strong="G5613"\w* people see \w that|strong="G5613"\w* \w you|strong="G5613"\w* belong \w to|strong="G2424"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*, \w and|strong="G2424"\w* \w then|strong="G2424"\w* \w they|strong="G5613"\w* hurt \w you|strong="G5613"\w*, \w you|strong="G5613"\w* \w just|strong="G5613"\w* \w have|strong="G5547"\w* \w to|strong="G2424"\w* forget \w it|strong="G5613"\w* \w and|strong="G2424"\w* keep \w going|strong="G2424"\w*, \w just|strong="G5613"\w* \w like|strong="G5613"\w* \w a|strong="G5613"\w* \w good|strong="G2570"\w* \w soldier|strong="G4757"\w*, \w and|strong="G2424"\w* \w like|strong="G5613"\w* other \w good|strong="G2570"\w* \w Christians|strong="G2424"\w*.

\v 4 \w And|strong="G3588"\w* you know \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w soldiers|strong="G4754"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* get \w other|strong="G3762"\w* jobs while \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w in|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G3588"\w* army. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w just|strong="G3588"\w* work \w for|strong="G2443"\w* \w their|strong="G3588"\w* army captain \w and|strong="G3588"\w* try \w to|strong="G2443"\w* make \w him|strong="G3588"\w* happy. Well, \w just|strong="G3588"\w* \w like|strong="G2443"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w*, Jesus \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w your|strong="G3588"\w* captain, \w so|strong="G2443"\w* you \w have|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w just|strong="G3588"\w* \w do|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w* Jesus wants you \w to|strong="G2443"\w* \w do|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G3588"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* get mixed up \w with|strong="G3588"\w* \w anything|strong="G3762"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w he|strong="G3588"\w* doesn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* want.

\v 6 \w And|strong="G4413"\w* \w I|strong="G2872"\w* will \w use|strong="G3588"\w* \w another|strong="G3588"\w* picture story, \w about|strong="G3588"\w* \w a|strong="G2590"\w* gardener. \w He|strong="G3588"\w* works \w hard|strong="G2872"\w*, \w and|strong="G4413"\w* then \w he|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G3588"\w* \w first|strong="G4413"\w* person \w to|strong="G1163"\w* eat \w the|strong="G3588"\w* food \w he|strong="G3588"\w* grows \w in|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G3588"\w* garden. Well, like \w that|strong="G3588"\w* gardener, if you \w work|strong="G2872"\w* \w hard|strong="G2872"\w* \w for|strong="G1210"\w* \w God|strong="G3588"\w*, \w he|strong="G3588"\w* will quickly pay you.

\v 7 \w Now|strong="G1722"\w* \w think|strong="G3539"\w* \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w I|strong="G3739"\w* \w just|strong="G3588"\w* \w told|strong="G3004"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w*, \w and|strong="G2962"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G3004"\w*, \w our|strong="G3956"\w* leader, \w will|strong="G3739"\w* help \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w to|strong="G3004"\w* properly \w understand|strong="G3539"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w*.

\v 8 \w So|strong="G1537"\w* if \w people|strong="G3588"\w* make trouble \w for|strong="G1537"\w* \w you|strong="G1537"\w*, \w just|strong="G2596"\w* \w remember|strong="G3421"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w made|strong="G3421"\w* trouble \w for|strong="G1537"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*. \w He|strong="G3588"\w* \w was|strong="G3588"\w* born \w into|strong="G2424"\w* \w the|strong="G1537"\w* family \w of|strong="G1537"\w* \w David|strong="G1138"\w*, \w the|strong="G1537"\w* \w man|strong="G3498"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w was|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G1537"\w* big boss \w a|strong="G1537"\w* long time ago. \w But|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w gave|strong="G3588"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w a|strong="G1537"\w* lot \w of|strong="G1537"\w* trouble, \w and|strong="G2424"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* killed \w him|strong="G3588"\w*. \w But|strong="G3588"\w* \w then|strong="G2424"\w* \w God|strong="G3588"\w* \w made|strong="G3421"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w* alive \w again|strong="G1453"\w*. \w That|strong="G3588"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G1537"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* \w news|strong="G2098"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* always tell \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w about|strong="G2596"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*.  
\v 9 \w But|strong="G2316"\w* \w some|strong="G3739"\w* \w of|strong="G3056"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w like|strong="G5613"\w* \w me|strong="G3756"\w* telling everybody \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w message|strong="G3056"\w*, \w so|strong="G5613"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w make|strong="G3756"\w* \w trouble|strong="G2553"\w* \w for|strong="G1722"\w* \w me|strong="G3756"\w*. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w even|strong="G3360"\w* treat \w me|strong="G3756"\w* \w like|strong="G5613"\w* \w a|strong="G5613"\w* \w criminal|strong="G2557"\w*. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w tied|strong="G1210"\w* \w me|strong="G3756"\w* \w up|strong="G1210"\w* \w and|strong="G2316"\w* \w put|strong="G1210"\w* \w me|strong="G3756"\w* \w here|strong="G1722"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w this|strong="G3588"\w* jail. \w But|strong="G2316"\w* nobody can \w tie|strong="G1210"\w* \w up|strong="G1210"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w*’s \w word|strong="G3056"\w* \w or|strong="G3739"\w* keep \w it|strong="G3739"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* jail. \w Anyone|strong="G3739"\w* \w out|strong="G2316"\w* \w there|strong="G1722"\w* \w now|strong="G1722"\w* can still \w go|strong="G3739"\w* around \w and|strong="G2316"\w* tell \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w*’s \w message|strong="G3056"\w*.  
\v 10 \w So|strong="G2443"\w* \w I|strong="G2532"\w* reckon \w it|strong="G2532"\w*’s \w all|strong="G3956"\w* right \w for|strong="G1223"\w* \w me|strong="G1223"\w* \w to|strong="G2443"\w* stay \w here|strong="G3956"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* jail \w so|strong="G2443"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w other|strong="G2443"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* hear \w that|strong="G2443"\w* message \w and|strong="G2532"\w* believe \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w*. \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G2443"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* picked \w out|strong="G2532"\w*. \w He|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* save \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w make|strong="G2532"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w great|strong="G3956"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* \w live|strong="G2532"\w* happy \w with|strong="G3326"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w* \w for|strong="G1223"\w* ever.  
\v 11 Listen \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w these|strong="G3588"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w you|strong="G1487"\w* sometimes hear Christians \w say|strong="G3056"\w*. \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w very|strong="G2532"\w* \w true|strong="G4103"\w*. \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w say|strong="G3056"\w*,  
\q1 “\w If|strong="G1487"\w* \w we|strong="G1063"\w* follow \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* stop doing bad \w things|strong="G3588"\w*, \w it|strong="G2532"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* like \w we|strong="G1063"\w* \w die|strong="G4880"\w* \w with|strong="G2532"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w we|strong="G1063"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w do|strong="G2532"\w* anything bad \w any|strong="G1487"\w* \w more|strong="G2532"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w then|strong="G2532"\w* later \w we|strong="G1063"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* \w live|strong="G4800"\w* \w with|strong="G2532"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*.

Tell \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w not|strong="G3361"\w* \w to|strong="G1909"\w* argue \w with|strong="G1909"\w* \w anyone|strong="G3762"\w* \w about|strong="G1909"\w* \w words|strong="G3054"\w*. Let \w them|strong="G3588"\w* know \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* listening \w as|strong="G1909"\w* \w you|strong="G3778"\w* tell \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w*. If \w they|strong="G3588"\w* argue like \w that|strong="G3588"\w*, \w nobody|strong="G3762"\w* wins, \w and|strong="G2316"\w* \w anyone|strong="G3762"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* listens \w to|strong="G1909"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* arguments gets \w all|strong="G3361"\w* messed \w up|strong="G1909"\w* \w in|strong="G1909"\w* \w the|strong="G1909"\w* \w end|strong="G3778"\w*.

\v 16 Stay away \w from|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G4183"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* teach useless stories \w that|strong="G3588"\w* give \w God|strong="G3588"\w* \w no|strong="G1063"\w* respect, \w because|strong="G1063"\w* \w if|strong="G1161"\w* somebody talks like \w that|strong="G3588"\w*, \w they|strong="G1161"\w* \w just|strong="G3588"\w* push \w people|strong="G4183"\w* away \w from|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G3588"\w*.  
\v 17 \w Their|strong="G2532"\w* \w message|strong="G3056"\w* \w is|strong="G1510"\w* \w like|strong="G5613"\w* \w a|strong="G2192"\w* bad sore \w on|strong="G3739"\w* \w a|strong="G2192"\w* \w man|strong="G3739"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w not|strong="G1510"\w* heal, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w in|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G2532"\w* end \w it|strong="G2532"\w* kills \w him|strong="G3588"\w*. \w Those|strong="G3588"\w* 2 \w men|strong="G3588"\w*, Hymenayus \w and|strong="G2532"\w* Filetus, \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* bad teachers \w like|strong="G5613"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w*.  
\v 18 \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w say|strong="G3004"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w* \w already|strong="G2235"\w* \w raised|strong="G2532"\w* \w up|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G2532"\w* dead \w people|strong="G5100"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w made|strong="G1096"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w* alive \w again|strong="G2532"\w*. \w But|strong="G2532"\w* \w their|strong="G2532"\w* message \w is|strong="G3588"\w* wrong. \w Some|strong="G5100"\w* \w people|strong="G5100"\w* listened \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w now|strong="G2532"\w* \w these|strong="G4012"\w* \w people|strong="G5100"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w believe|strong="G4102"\w* \w in|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G3004"\w* \w any|strong="G5100"\w* \w more|strong="G2532"\w*.

\v 23 \w But|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G3754"\w* \w can|strong="G1492"\w*’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* argue \w about|strong="G3588"\w* stupid \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w not|strong="G2532"\w* important. \w If|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G3754"\w* argue like \w that|strong="G3754"\w*, \w you|strong="G3754"\w* \w might|strong="G2532"\w* \w get|strong="G2532"\w* \w into|strong="G3708"\w* \w a|strong="G2532"\w* fight.  
\v 24 \w And|strong="G1161"\w* \w anyone|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G3956"\w* works \w for|strong="G4314"\w* \w God|strong="G4314"\w* can’t get \w into|strong="G1401"\w* fights, \w but|strong="G1161"\w* \w they|strong="G1161"\w* \w have|strong="G1510"\w* \w to|strong="G4314"\w* \w be|strong="G1510"\w* \w good|strong="G3956"\w* \w to|strong="G4314"\w* everybody. \w So|strong="G1161"\w* don’t get angry \w with|strong="G4314"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w that|strong="G3956"\w* \w give|strong="G3956"\w* \w you|strong="G1510"\w* trouble. \w You|strong="G1510"\w* \w have|strong="G1510"\w* \w to|strong="G4314"\w* \w teach|strong="G1317"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w in|strong="G3956"\w* \w a|strong="G1510"\w* \w good|strong="G3956"\w* \w way|strong="G3956"\w*.  
\v 25-26 If somebody doesn’t agree with the true message, you have to straighten them out, but do it quietly, in an easy way. You know, the devil, the boss over the bad spirits, he tries to trick people. It is like he sets a trap for them. He catches people in his trap, then he makes them do whatever he wants them to do. But if you teach people properly, they can wake up, then God will help them turn around, and he will get them to think straight, and they will understand that true message, and God will get them out of the devil’s trap.

\v 1 \w You|strong="G3754"\w* \w have|strong="G3748"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* \w understand|strong="G1097"\w* \w this|strong="G3778"\w*. \w In|strong="G1722"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w last|strong="G2078"\w* \w days|strong="G2250"\w* \w of|strong="G2250"\w* \w this|strong="G3778"\w* world, \w things|strong="G3778"\w* \w will|strong="G2250"\w* \w be|strong="G1161"\w* tough \w for|strong="G3754"\w* \w people|strong="G3778"\w*.  
\v 2 \w Most|strong="G5244"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* only love \w themselves|strong="G1510"\w*, \w and|strong="G3588"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* love \w money|strong="G5366"\w*. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* think \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* smart, \w and|strong="G3588"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* tell everyone \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* smart. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* say bad \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w about|strong="G3588"\w* \w other|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w*. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* never \w do|strong="G1510"\w* \w what|strong="G3588"\w* \w their|strong="G3588"\w* \w parents|strong="G1118"\w* tell \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w to|strong="G1510"\w* \w do|strong="G1510"\w*. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* never thank anyone \w for|strong="G1063"\w* anything. \w They|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w not|strong="G1510"\w* respect \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w belong|strong="G1510"\w* \w to|strong="G1510"\w* \w God|strong="G3588"\w*.  
\v 3 They will be hard \w and|strong="G1228"\w* cruel. They will remember the wrong things \w that|strong="G1228"\w* other people do, \w and|strong="G1228"\w* they will do payback to them. They will get wild easily, \w and|strong="G1228"\w* they will never control themselves. They will always hate everything \w that|strong="G1228"\w* \w is|strong="G1228"\w* good.  
\v 4 They \w will|strong="G3123"\w* turn against their friends. They \w will|strong="G3123"\w* \w do|strong="G2228"\w* stupid things \w that|strong="G3123"\w* \w will|strong="G3123"\w* make problems \w for|strong="G2228"\w* \w other|strong="G2228"\w* people, \w but|strong="G2228"\w* they \w will|strong="G3123"\w* not care. They \w will|strong="G3123"\w* think they \w are|strong="G3123"\w* really good, \w but|strong="G2228"\w* they \w are|strong="G3123"\w* not. They \w will|strong="G3123"\w* not love \w God|strong="G5377"\w*, \w but|strong="G2228"\w* \w instead|strong="G3123"\w* they \w will|strong="G3123"\w* only love \w to|strong="G2228"\w* \w have|strong="G2228"\w* fun.  
\v 5 \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* reckon \w they|strong="G2532"\w* respect \w God|strong="G2532"\w*, \w but|strong="G1161"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* reckon \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* hasn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* got \w any|strong="G2192"\w* \w power|strong="G1411"\w*. \w So|strong="G2532"\w* \w I|strong="G2532"\w*’m telling \w you|strong="G2532"\w*, \w keep|strong="G2192"\w* right away \w from|strong="G2532"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G3778"\w*.

\v 6-7 They are the sort of people that trick some women that are stupid. They find women that always do anything they feel like doing, women that really went wrong, women that know that they did lots of bad things. That sort of woman is always ready to listen to a teacher that has a new idea, but they can never understand the true message. Those bad men get those women to let them into their homes, then they trick them with their talk, until the women really believe them.  
\v 8-9 Those men have sick and dirty minds, and they don’t really believe in God. Think about the story from a long time ago, that story about Jannes and Jambres. They stood up against Moses and argued with him. In the end God killed those 2 men, and everyone saw that they were fools, and that they were wrong. Well, those tricky men are just like those 2 men that lived a long time ago. Those tricky men stand up and argue against anyone that tells the true message, but in the end everyone will know that they are fools, and that they are wrong.\x * \xo 3:8-9 \xt Exodus 7:11\x*

\v 10 \w But|strong="G1161"\w* Timothy, \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w very|strong="G3588"\w* different \w from|strong="G3588"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w*. \w You|strong="G4771"\w* \w believe|strong="G4102"\w* \w the|strong="G1161"\w* message \w I|strong="G1473"\w* always teach, \w and|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* know \w the|strong="G1161"\w* \w good|strong="G3588"\w* way \w I|strong="G1473"\w* always live. \w You|strong="G4771"\w* know \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* get angry \w when|strong="G1161"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* get trouble, \w and|strong="G1161"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* keep \w on|strong="G1161"\w* loving \w people|strong="G3588"\w*. \w You|strong="G4771"\w* know \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w believe|strong="G4102"\w* really strongly \w in|strong="G4102"\w* Jesus, \w and|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* agree \w with|strong="G3588"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w* \w about|strong="G3588"\w* \w the|strong="G1161"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* live \w for|strong="G1161"\w*.  
\v 11 \w You|strong="G1722"\w* \w know|strong="G1722"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* bad \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w some|strong="G3588"\w* towns \w gave|strong="G2532"\w* \w me|strong="G1473"\w* \w a|strong="G1096"\w* lot \w of|strong="G1537"\w* trouble. \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w did|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w at|strong="G1722"\w* Antioch, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w at|strong="G1722"\w* \w Iconium|strong="G2430"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w at|strong="G1722"\w* Listra.  
\p \w You|strong="G1722"\w* \w know|strong="G1722"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* hurt \w me|strong="G1473"\w* \w a|strong="G1096"\w* lot \w at|strong="G1722"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* places. \w But|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2532"\w*, \w our|strong="G2532"\w* leader, saved \w me|strong="G1473"\w* \w from|strong="G1537"\w* \w them|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* didn’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* kill \w me|strong="G1473"\w*.\x * \xo 3:11 \xt Acts 13:14—14:20\x*

\v 12 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w it|strong="G2532"\w* \w is|strong="G3588"\w* \w always|strong="G3956"\w* \w like|strong="G2309"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w*. \w If|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G1722"\w* belong \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w want|strong="G2309"\w* \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w live|strong="G2198"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*’s \w way|strong="G1722"\w*, bad \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w will|strong="G2309"\w* \w always|strong="G3956"\w* \w make|strong="G2532"\w* trouble \w for|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G1722"\w*.  
\v 13 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w bad|strong="G4190"\w* liars \w will|strong="G2532"\w* \w get|strong="G2532"\w* \w worse|strong="G5501"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w worse|strong="G5501"\w*. \w They|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* \w go|strong="G4105"\w* \w on|strong="G1909"\w* tricking \w people|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w just|strong="G2532"\w* like \w that|strong="G3588"\w*, \w other|strong="G1161"\w* \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* trick \w them|strong="G3588"\w* \w too|strong="G2532"\w*.

\v 14 \w But|strong="G1161"\w* \w as|strong="G1722"\w* \w for|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w*, \w we|strong="G3739"\w* \w taught|strong="G3129"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* lots \w of|strong="G2532"\w* \w things|strong="G3739"\w* \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w now|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* really believe \w those|strong="G1722"\w* \w things|strong="G3739"\w*. \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w know|strong="G1492"\w* \w us|strong="G1722"\w*. \w We|strong="G3739"\w* \w only|strong="G2532"\w* teach \w the|strong="G1722"\w* true message, \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w know|strong="G1492"\w* \w that|strong="G3739"\w* \w those|strong="G1722"\w* \w things|strong="G3739"\w* \w we|strong="G3739"\w* \w taught|strong="G3129"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w are|strong="G3739"\w* true. \w So|strong="G2532"\w* keep \w on|strong="G1722"\w* believing \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w following|strong="G1722"\w* \w our|strong="G2532"\w* message.  
\v 15 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w remember|strong="G1492"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* \w a|strong="G2532"\w* long \w time|strong="G1722"\w* ago \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w were|strong="G3588"\w* \w a|strong="G2532"\w* kid, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w your|strong="G1223"\w* mother taught \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w things|strong="G3588"\w* \w from|strong="G2532"\w* \w God|strong="G2532"\w*’s \w book|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* \w gave|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* enough sense \w to|strong="G1519"\w* \w believe|strong="G4102"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G2424"\w* \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*. \w Now|strong="G2532"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w believe|strong="G4102"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w him|strong="G3588"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w he|strong="G2532"\w* saves \w you|strong="G4771"\w*.

\v 3 \w You|strong="G1510"\w* see, \w people|strong="G1510"\w* \w are|strong="G1510"\w* getting \w less|strong="G3756"\w* interested \w in|strong="G2596"\w* \w true|strong="G3588"\w* stories. \w One|strong="G1438"\w* \w day|strong="G3588"\w*, \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w not|strong="G3756"\w* listen \w to|strong="G2596"\w* \w good|strong="G5198"\w* \w people|strong="G1510"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* teach \w the|strong="G2596"\w* \w true|strong="G3588"\w* message, \w but|strong="G1063"\w* instead \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* listen \w to|strong="G2596"\w* somebody \w that|strong="G3588"\w* says strange \w things|strong="G3588"\w*. \w And|strong="G3588"\w* \w they|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* find \w teachers|strong="G1320"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G1510"\w* \w just|strong="G2596"\w* say whatever \w people|strong="G1510"\w* want \w to|strong="G2596"\w* hear.  
\v 4 \w Those|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G3588"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* stop listening \w to|strong="G2532"\w* \w the|strong="G2532"\w* \w true|strong="G3588"\w* story, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w instead|strong="G1161"\w* \w they|strong="G2532"\w* \w will|strong="G2532"\w* listen \w to|strong="G2532"\w* stories \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w are|strong="G3588"\w* \w all|strong="G2532"\w* lies.  
\v 5 Don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* \w be|strong="G3956"\w* like \w those|strong="G3588"\w* \w people|strong="G3956"\w*. \w You|strong="G4771"\w* \w have|strong="G4160"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* control \w yourself|strong="G4771"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w time|strong="G1722"\w*, \w no|strong="G3956"\w* matter \w what|strong="G3588"\w* happens \w to|strong="G1722"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w*. \w If|strong="G1161"\w* \w they|strong="G1161"\w* get tough \w on|strong="G1722"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w*, don’\w t|strong="G3588"\w* get upset, \w just|strong="G3588"\w* \w keep|strong="G4160"\w* going. \w You|strong="G4771"\w* \w have|strong="G4160"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* \w keep|strong="G4160"\w* \w on|strong="G1722"\w* telling \w people|strong="G3956"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w good|strong="G3956"\w* news \w about|strong="G1722"\w* \w Jesus|strong="G4160"\w*, \w and|strong="G1161"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w have|strong="G4160"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* finish \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w the|strong="G1722"\w* \w work|strong="G2041"\w* \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w he|strong="G1161"\w* \w gave|strong="G4160"\w* \w you|strong="G4771"\w* \w to|strong="G1722"\w* \w do|strong="G4160"\w*.
