\v 2  \w Now|strong="H5414"\w* \w the Lord|strong="H0136"\w* \w delivered|strong="H3027"\w* \w King|strong="H4428"\w* \w Jehoiakim|strong="H3079"\w* \w of Judah|strong="H3063"\w* \w into his power,|strong="H7117"\w* \w along|strong="H0853"\w* \w with|strong="H1004"\w* \w some|strong="H7117"\w* \w of the vessels|strong="H3627"\w* \w of the temple|strong="H1004"\w* \w of God|strong="H0430"\w*. \w He brought|strong="H0935"\w* \w them to the land|strong="H0776"\w* \w of Babylonia|strong="H8152"\w* \w to the temple|strong="H1004"\w* \w of his god|strong="H0430"\w* \w and put|strong="H0935"\w* \w the vessels|strong="H3627"\w* \w in the treasury|strong="H0214"\w* \w of his god|strong="H0430"\w*.

\v 3  \w The king|strong="H4428"\w* \w commanded|strong="H0828"\w* \w Ashpenaz|strong="H0828"\w*, \w who was in charge of his court officials|strong="H5631"\w*, \w to choose|strong="H0935"\w* \w some of the Israelites|strong="H3478"\w* \w who were of royal|strong="H4410"\w* \w and noble|strong="H6579"\w* \w descent|strong="H2233"\w* –  
\v 4  \w young men|strong="H3206"\w* \w in whom|strong="H0834"\w* \w there was no|strong="H0369"\w* \w physical defect|strong="H3971"\w* \w and who|strong="H7919"\w* \w were handsome|strong="H2896"\w*, \w well versed|strong="H7919"\w* \w in all|strong="H3605"\w* \w kinds|strong="H1847"\w* \w of wisdom|strong="H2451"\w*, \w well educated|strong="H3045"\w* \w and having keen|strong="H4093"\w* \w insight|strong="H0995"\w*, \w and who|strong="H0834"\w* \w were capable|strong="H3581"\w* \w of entering|strong="H5975"\w* \w the king’s|strong="H4428"\w* \w royal service|strong="H1964"\w* – \w and to teach|strong="H3925"\w* \w them the literature|strong="H5612"\w* \w and language|strong="H3956"\w* \w of the Babylonians|strong="H3778"\w*.  
\v 5  \w So the king|strong="H4428"\w* \w assigned them a daily|strong="H3117"\w* \w ration|strong="H7117"\w* \w from his royal|strong="H4428"\w* \w delicacies|strong="H6598"\w* \w and from the wine|strong="H3196"\w* \w he himself drank|strong="H4960"\w*. \w They were to be trained|strong="H1431"\w* \w for the next three|strong="H7969"\w* \w years|strong="H8141"\w*. \w At the end of that time|strong="H3117"\w* \w they were|strong="H5975"\w* \w to enter the king’s|strong="H4428"\w* \w service|strong="H5975"\w*.  
\v 6  \w As it turned out,|strong="H1961"\w* among these \w young|strong="H1121"\w* \w men|strong="H1121"\w* \w were|strong="H1961"\w* \w some from Judah|strong="H3063"\w*\w :|strong="H1840"\w* \w Daniel|strong="H1840"\w*, \w Hananiah|strong="H2608"\w*, \w Mishael|strong="H4332"\w*, \w and Azariah|strong="H5838"\w*.  
\v 7  \w But the overseer|strong="H8269"\w* \w of the court officials|strong="H5631"\w* \w renamed|strong="H8034"\w* \w them. He gave|strong="H7760"\w* \w Daniel|strong="H1840"\w* \w the name Belteshazzar|strong="H1095"\w*, \w Hananiah|strong="H2608"\w* \w he named Shadrach|strong="H7714"\w*, \w Mishael|strong="H4332"\w* \w he named Meshach|strong="H4335"\w*, \w and Azariah|strong="H5838"\w* \w he named Abednego|strong="H5664"\w*.

\v 8  \w But Daniel|strong="H1840"\w* \w made|strong="H7760"\w* \w up|strong="H5921"\w* \w his mind|strong="H3820"\w* \w that|strong="H0834"\w* \w he would not|strong="H3808"\w* \w defile|strong="H1351"\w* \w himself with the royal|strong="H4428"\w* \w delicacies|strong="H6598"\w* \w or the royal|strong="H4960"\w* \w wine|strong="H3196"\w*. \w He therefore asked|strong="H1245"\w* \w the overseer|strong="H8269"\w* \w of the court officials|strong="H5631"\w* \w for permission not|strong="H3808"\w* \w to defile|strong="H1351"\w* \w himself|strong="H3820"\w*.  
\v 9  \w Then God|strong="H0430"\w* \w made|strong="H5414"\w* \w the overseer|strong="H8269"\w* \w of the court officials|strong="H5631"\w* \w sympathetic|strong="H7356"\w* \w to Daniel|strong="H1840"\w*.  
\v 10  \w But he|strong="H0559"\w* \w responded|strong="H0559"\w* \w to Daniel|strong="H1840"\w*, \w “I|strong="H0589"\w* \w fear|strong="H3373"\w* \w my master|strong="H0113"\w* \w the king|strong="H4428"\w*. \w He is the one who|strong="H0834"\w* \w has decided|strong="H4487"\w* \w your food|strong="H3978"\w* \w and drink|strong="H4960"\w*. \w What|strong="H4100"\w* \w would happen if he saw|strong="H7200"\w* \w that|strong="H0834"\w* \w you looked|strong="H6440"\w* \w malnourished|strong="H2196"\w* \w in comparison|strong="H4480"\w* \w to the other young men|strong="H3206"\w* \w your age|strong="H1524"\w*\w ?|strong="H2325"\w* \w If|strong="H0834"\w* \w that|strong="H0834"\w* happened, \w you|strong="H0834"\w* \w would|strong="H4100"\w* endanger \w my life|strong="H7218"\w* \w with the king|strong="H4428"\w*!”  
\v 11  \w Daniel|strong="H1840"\w* \w then spoke|strong="H0559"\w* \w to|strong="H0413"\w* \w the warden|strong="H4453"\w* \w whom|strong="H0834"\w* \w the overseer|strong="H8269"\w* \w of the court officials|strong="H5631"\w* \w had appointed|strong="H4487"\w* \w over|strong="H5921"\w* \w Daniel|strong="H1840"\w*, \w Hananiah|strong="H2608"\w*, \w Mishael|strong="H4332"\w*, \w and Azariah|strong="H5838"\w*:  
\v 12 “\w Please|strong="H4994"\w* \w test|strong="H5254"\w* \w your servants|strong="H5650"\w* \w for ten|strong="H6235"\w* \w days|strong="H3117"\w* \w by providing|strong="H5414"\w* \w us with some|strong="H4480"\w* \w vegetables|strong="H2235"\w* \w to eat|strong="H0398"\w* \w and water|strong="H4325"\w* \w to drink|strong="H8354"\w*.  
\v 13  \w Then compare our appearance|strong="H4758"\w* \w with that of|strong="H3206"\w* \w the|strong="H0853"\w* \w young|strong="H3206"\w* \w men|strong="H3206"\w* \w who are eating|strong="H0398"\w* \w the royal|strong="H4428"\w* \w delicacies|strong="H6598"\w*; \w deal|strong="H6213"\w* \w with|strong="H5973"\w* \w us|strong="H0834"\w* \w in|strong="H4428"\w* light \w of|strong="H4428"\w* \w what|strong="H0834"\w* \w you see|strong="H7200"\w*.”  
\v 14  \w So|strong="H8085"\w* \w the warden|strong="H8085"\w* \w agreed|strong="H8085"\w* \w to their proposal|strong="H1697"\w* \w and tested|strong="H5254"\w* \w them for ten|strong="H6235"\w* \w days|strong="H3117"\w*.

\v 15  \w At the end|strong="H7117"\w* \w of the ten|strong="H6235"\w* \w days|strong="H3117"\w* \w their appearance|strong="H4758"\w* \w was better|strong="H2896"\w* \w and their bodies were healthier|strong="H1277"\w* \w than|strong="H4480"\w* \w all|strong="H3605"\w* \w the young men|strong="H3206"\w* \w who had been eating|strong="H0398"\w* \w the royal|strong="H4428"\w* \w delicacies|strong="H6598"\w*.  
\v 16  \w So|strong="H1961"\w* \w the warden|strong="H4453"\w* \w removed|strong="H5375"\w* \w the delicacies|strong="H6598"\w* \w and the wine|strong="H3196"\w* \w from their diet|strong="H5414"\w* \w and|strong="H3196"\w* \w gave|strong="H5414"\w* \w them a diet of vegetables|strong="H2235"\w* instead.  
\v 17  \w Now as for these|strong="H0428"\w* \w four|strong="H0702"\w* \w young men|strong="H3206"\w*, \w God|strong="H0430"\w* \w endowed|strong="H4093"\w* \w them with knowledge and skill|strong="H7919"\w* \w in all|strong="H3605"\w* \w sorts of literature|strong="H5612"\w* \w and wisdom|strong="H2451"\w* \w – and Daniel|strong="H1840"\w* \w had insight|strong="H0995"\w* \w into all|strong="H3605"\w* \w kinds of visions|strong="H2377"\w* \w and dreams|strong="H2472"\w*.

\v 18  \w When the time|strong="H3117"\w* \w appointed|strong="H7117"\w* \w by the king|strong="H4428"\w* \w arrived|strong="H0935"\w*, \w the overseer|strong="H8269"\w* \w of the court officials|strong="H5631"\w* \w brought|strong="H0935"\w* \w them into Nebuchadnezzar’s|strong="H5019"\w* \w presence|strong="H6440"\w*.  
\v 19  \w When the king|strong="H4428"\w* \w spoke|strong="H1696"\w* \w with|strong="H0854"\w* \w them, he did not|strong="H3808"\w* \w find|strong="H4672"\w* \w among the entire|strong="H3605"\w* \w group|strong="H1840"\w* \w anyone|strong="H3605"\w* \w like|strong="H3808"\w* \w Daniel|strong="H1840"\w*, \w Hananiah|strong="H2608"\w*, \w Mishael|strong="H4332"\w*, \w or Azariah|strong="H5838"\w*. \w So|strong="H5975"\w* \w they entered|strong="H5975"\w* \w the king’s|strong="H4428"\w* \w service|strong="H5975"\w*.  
\v 20  \w In every|strong="H3605"\w* \w matter|strong="H1697"\w* \w of wisdom|strong="H2451"\w* \w and|strong="H0998"\w* \w insight|strong="H0998"\w* \w the king|strong="H4428"\w* \w asked them about, he found|strong="H4672"\w* \w them to be ten|strong="H6235"\w* \w times|strong="H3027"\w* \w better|strong="H3027"\w* \w than any|strong="H3605"\w* \w of the magicians|strong="H2748"\w* \w and astrologers|strong="H0825"\w* \w that|strong="H0834"\w* \w were in his entire|strong="H3605"\w* \w empire|strong="H4438"\w*.  
\v 21  \w Now|strong="H1961"\w* \w Daniel|strong="H1840"\w* \w lived on until|strong="H5704"\w* \w the first|strong="H0259"\w* \w year|strong="H8141"\w* \w of Cyrus|strong="H3566"\w* \w the king|strong="H4428"\w*.

\v 1  \w In the second|strong="H8147"\w* \w year|strong="H8141"\w* \w of his|strong="H4438"\w* \w reign|strong="H4438"\w* \w Nebuchadnezzar|strong="H5019"\w* \w had many dreams|strong="H2472"\w*. \w His|strong="H5019"\w* \w mind|strong="H7307"\w* \w was disturbed|strong="H6470"\w* \w and he suffered|strong="H1961"\w* \w from insomnia|strong="H1961"\w*.  
\v 2  \w The king|strong="H4428"\w* \w issued|strong="H0559"\w* \w an order|strong="H7121"\w* \w to|strong="H0559"\w* \w summon|strong="H7121"\w* \w the magicians|strong="H2748"\w*, \w astrologers|strong="H0825"\w*, \w sorcerers|strong="H3784"\w*, \w and wise men|strong="H3778"\w* \w in order to explain|strong="H5046"\w* \w his dreams|strong="H2472"\w* \w to him|strong="H4428"\w*. \w So they came|strong="H0935"\w* \w and awaited|strong="H6440"\w* \w the king’s|strong="H4428"\w* instructions.

\v 3  \w The king|strong="H4428"\w* \w told|strong="H0559"\w* \w them|strong="H1992"\w*, \w “I have had a dream|strong="H2492"\w*, \w and I|strong="H6470"\w* am \w anxious|strong="H6470"\w* \w to understand|strong="H3045"\w* \w the dream|strong="H2472"\w*.”  
\v 4  \w The wise men|strong="H3778"\w* \w replied|strong="H1696"\w* \w to the king|strong="H4428"\w*\w : [What follows is in Aramaic|strong="H0762"\w* \w ] “O king|strong="H4430"\w*, \w live|strong="H2418"\w* \w forever|strong="H5957"\w*\w ! Tell|strong="H0560"\w* \w your servants|strong="H5649"\w* \w the dream|strong="H2493"\w*, \w and we will disclose|strong="H2324"\w* \w its|strong="H6591"\w* \w interpretation|strong="H6591"\w*.”  
\v 5  \w The king|strong="H4430"\w* \w replied|strong="H6032"\w* \w to the wise men|strong="H3779"\w*, \w “My decision|strong="H4406"\w* \w is firm|strong="H0230"\w*. \w If|strong="H2006"\w* \w you do not|strong="H3809"\w* \w inform|strong="H3046"\w* \w me of both the dream|strong="H2493"\w* \w and its interpretation|strong="H6591"\w*, \w you will be dismembered|strong="H5648"\w* \w and your homes|strong="H1005"\w* \w reduced|strong="H7761"\w* \w to rubble|strong="H5122"\w*!  
\v 6  \w But if|strong="H2006"\w* \w you can disclose|strong="H2324"\w* \w the dream|strong="H2493"\w* \w and its interpretation|strong="H6591"\w*, \w you will receive|strong="H6902"\w* \w from|strong="H4481"\w* \w me gifts|strong="H4978"\w*, \w a reward|strong="H5023"\w*, \w and considerable|strong="H7690"\w* \w honor|strong="H3367"\w*. \w So|strong="H2006"\w* \w disclose|strong="H2324"\w* \w to me the dream|strong="H2493"\w* \w and its interpretation|strong="H6591"\w*!”  
\v 7  \w They again|strong="H8579"\w* \w replied|strong="H6032"\w*, \w “Let the king|strong="H4430"\w* \w inform|strong="H0560"\w* \w us|strong="H5649"\w* \w of the dream|strong="H2493"\w*; \w then we will disclose|strong="H2324"\w* \w its|strong="H6591"\w* \w interpretation|strong="H6591"\w*.”  
\v 8  \w The king|strong="H4430"\w* \w replied|strong="H6032"\w*, \w “I|strong="H0576"\w* \w know|strong="H3046"\w* \w for|strong="H4481"\w* \w sure|strong="H3330"\w* \w that|strong="H1768"\w* \w you|strong="H0608"\w* \w are attempting to gain|strong="H2084"\w* \w time|strong="H5732"\w*, \w because|strong="H6903"\w* \w you see|strong="H2370"\w* \w that|strong="H1768"\w* \w my decision|strong="H4406"\w* \w is firm|strong="H0230"\w*.  
\v 9  \w If|strong="H2006"\w* \w you don’t|strong="H3809"\w* \w inform|strong="H3046"\w* \w me of the dream|strong="H2493"\w*, \w there is|strong="H1932"\w* \w only one|strong="H2298"\w* \w thing|strong="H1882"\w* \w that is going to happen to you.|strong="H2164"\w* \w For|strong="H1768"\w* \w you|strong="H1768"\w* have \w agreed|strong="H2164"\w* \w among yourselves to report|strong="H0560"\w* \w to me|strong="H6925"\w* \w something|strong="H4406"\w* \w false|strong="H3538"\w* \w and deceitful|strong="H7844"\w* \w until|strong="H5705"\w* \w such|strong="H1768"\w* \w time|strong="H5732"\w* \w as things might change|strong="H8133"\w*. \w So|strong="H2006"\w* \w tell|strong="H0560"\w* \w me the dream|strong="H2493"\w*, \w and I will have confidence|strong="H3046"\w* \w that|strong="H1768"\w* \w you can disclose|strong="H2324"\w* \w its interpretation|strong="H6591"\w*.”

\v 10  \w The wise men|strong="H3779"\w* \w replied|strong="H6032"\w* \w to|strong="H6925"\w* \w the king|strong="H4430"\w*, \w “There is|strong="H0383"\w* \w no|strong="H3809"\w* \w man|strong="H0606"\w* \w on|strong="H5922"\w* \w earth|strong="H3007"\w* \w who|strong="H1768"\w* \w is able|strong="H3202"\w* \w to disclose|strong="H2324"\w* \w the king’s|strong="H4430"\w* \w secret|strong="H4406"\w*, \w for|strong="H6903"\w* \w no|strong="H3809"\w* \w king|strong="H4430"\w*, \w regardless|strong="H1768"\w* \w of his position|strong="H7229"\w* \w and power|strong="H7990"\w*, \w has ever requested|strong="H7593"\w* \w such|strong="H1836"\w* \w a thing|strong="H4406"\w* \w from any|strong="H3606"\w* \w magician|strong="H2749"\w*, \w astrologer|strong="H0826"\w*, \w or wise man|strong="H3779"\w*.  
\v 11  \w What|strong="H4406"\w* \w the king|strong="H4430"\w* \w is asking|strong="H7593"\w* \w is too difficult|strong="H3358"\w*, \w and no|strong="H3809"\w* \w one|strong="H0321"\w* \w exists|strong="H0383"\w* \w who|strong="H1768"\w* \w can disclose|strong="H2324"\w* \w it to|strong="H6925"\w* \w the king|strong="H4430"\w*, \w except|strong="H3861"\w* \w for the gods|strong="H0426"\w* \w – but they don’t|strong="H3809"\w* \w live|strong="H4070"\w* \w among|strong="H5974"\w* \w mortals|strong="H1321"\w*!”

\v 12  \w Because|strong="H6903"\w* \w of this|strong="H1836"\w* \w the king|strong="H4430"\w* \w got furiously|strong="H7108"\w* \w angry|strong="H1149"\w* \w and gave orders|strong="H0560"\w* \w to destroy|strong="H0007"\w* \w all|strong="H3606"\w* \w the wise men|strong="H2445"\w* \w of Babylon|strong="H0895"\w*.

\v 16  \w So Daniel|strong="H1841"\w* \w went in|strong="H5954"\w* \w and|strong="H1156"\w* \w requested|strong="H1156"\w* \w the king|strong="H4430"\w* \w to grant|strong="H5415"\w* \w him time|strong="H2166"\w*, \w that|strong="H1768"\w* \w he might disclose|strong="H2324"\w* \w the interpretation|strong="H6591"\w* \w to the king|strong="H4430"\w*.

\v 11  \w It also acted arrogantly|strong="H1431"\w* \w against the Prince|strong="H8269"\w* \w of the army|strong="H6635"\w*, \w from|strong="H4480"\w* \w whom|strong="H8548"\w* \w the|strong="H4480"\w* \w daily|strong="H8548"\w* \w sacrifice was removed and whose sanctuary|strong="H4720"\w* \w was thrown down|strong="H7993"\w*.

\v 22  \w The horn that was broken|strong="H7665"\w* \w and in whose place|strong="H8478"\w* \w there arose|strong="H5975"\w* \w four|strong="H0702"\w* \w others stands|strong="H5975"\w* \w for four|strong="H0702"\w* \w kingdoms|strong="H4438"\w* \w that will arise from his nation|strong="H1471"\w*, \w though they will not|strong="H3808"\w* \w have his strength|strong="H3581"\w*.

\v 15  \w Then the king|strong="H4428"\w* \w of the north|strong="H6828"\w* \w will advance|strong="H0935"\w* \w and will build|strong="H8210"\w* \w siege mounds|strong="H5550"\w* \w and capture|strong="H3920"\w* \w a well-fortified|strong="H4013"\w* \w city|strong="H5892"\w*. \w The forces|strong="H2220"\w* \w of the south|strong="H5045"\w* \w will not|strong="H3808"\w* \w prevail|strong="H5975"\w*, \w not even his finest|strong="H4005"\w* \w contingents|strong="H5971"\w*. \w They will have no|strong="H0369"\w* \w strength|strong="H3581"\w* \w to prevail|strong="H5975"\w*.

\v 19  \w He will then turn|strong="H7725"\w* \w his attention to the fortresses|strong="H4581"\w* \w of his own land|strong="H0776"\w*, \w but he will stumble|strong="H3782"\w* \w and fall|strong="H5307"\w*, \w not|strong="H3808"\w* \w to be found|strong="H4672"\w* \w again|strong="H7725"\w*.

\v 40 “\w At the time|strong="H6256"\w* \w of the end|strong="H7093"\w* \w the king|strong="H4428"\w* \w of the south|strong="H5045"\w* \w will attack|strong="H8175"\w* \w him|strong="H5921"\w*. \w Then|strong="H0935"\w* \w the king|strong="H4428"\w* \w of the north|strong="H6828"\w* \w will storm against him|strong="H8175"\w* \w with chariots|strong="H7393"\w*, \w horsemen|strong="H6571"\w*, \w and a large|strong="H7227"\w* \w armada|strong="H8175"\w* \w of ships|strong="H0591"\w*. \w He|strong="H0935"\w* \w will|strong="H0776"\w* \w invade|strong="H0935"\w* \w lands|strong="H0776"\w*, \w passing|strong="H5674"\w* \w through them like an overflowing|strong="H7857"\w* \w river|strong="H0776"\w*.  
\v 41  \w Then he will enter|strong="H0935"\w* \w the beautiful|strong="H6643"\w* \w land|strong="H0776"\w*. \w Many|strong="H7227"\w* \w will fall|strong="H3782"\w*, \w but these|strong="H0428"\w* \w will escape|strong="H4422"\w*\w :|strong="H0123"\w* \w Edom|strong="H0123"\w*, \w Moab|strong="H4124"\w*, \w and the Ammonite|strong="H5983"\w* \w leadership|strong="H7225"\w*.  
\v 42  \w He will extend|strong="H7971"\w* \w his power|strong="H3027"\w* \w against other lands|strong="H0776"\w*; \w the land|strong="H0776"\w* \w of Egypt|strong="H4714"\w* \w will not|strong="H3808"\w* \w escape|strong="H6413"\w*.  
\v 43  \w He will have control|strong="H4910"\w* \w over the hidden stores|strong="H4362"\w* \w of gold|strong="H2091"\w* \w and silver|strong="H3701"\w*, \w as well as all|strong="H3605"\w* \w the treasures|strong="H2530"\w* \w of Egypt|strong="H4714"\w*. \w Libyans|strong="H3864"\w* \w and Ethiopians|strong="H3569"\w* \w will submit|strong="H4703"\w* \w to|strong="H4714"\w* \w him|strong="H3605"\w*.  
\v 44  \w But reports|strong="H8052"\w* \w will trouble|strong="H0926"\w* \w him from the east|strong="H4217"\w* \w and north|strong="H6828"\w*, \w and he will set out|strong="H3318"\w* \w in a tremendous|strong="H1419"\w* \w rage|strong="H2534"\w* \w to destroy|strong="H8045"\w* \w and wipe out|strong="H2763"\w* \w many|strong="H7227"\w*.  
\v 45  \w He will pitch|strong="H5193"\w* \w his royal|strong="H0643"\w* \w tents|strong="H0168"\w* \w between|strong="H0996"\w* \w the seas|strong="H3220"\w* \w toward the beautiful|strong="H6643"\w* \w holy|strong="H6944"\w* \w mountain|strong="H2022"\w*. \w But he will come|strong="H0935"\w* \w to|strong="H5704"\w* \w his end|strong="H7093"\w*, \w with no one|strong="H0369"\w* \w to help|strong="H5826"\w* \w him|strong="H0935"\w*.

\q1 \w There will be|strong="H1961"\w* \w a time|strong="H6256"\w* \w of distress|strong="H6869"\w*

\q1 \w up|strong="H5704"\w* \w to that time|strong="H6256"\w*.  
\q1 \w But at that time|strong="H6256"\w* \w your own people|strong="H5971"\w*,  
\q1 \w all|strong="H3605"\w* \w those whose names are|strong="H4672"\w* \w found|strong="H4672"\w* \w written|strong="H3789"\w* \w in the book|strong="H5612"\w*,  
\q1 \w will escape|strong="H4422"\w*.

\v 2  \w Many|strong="H7227"\w* \w of those who sleep|strong="H3463"\w*  
\q1 \w in the dusty|strong="H6083"\w* \w ground|strong="H0127"\w* \w will awake|strong="H6974"\w* \w –|strong="H5769"\w*  
\q1 \w some to everlasting|strong="H5769"\w* \w life|strong="H2416"\w*,  
\q1 \w and others|strong="H0428"\w* \w to shame|strong="H2781"\w* \w and everlasting|strong="H5769"\w* \w abhorrence|strong="H1860"\w*.

\q1 \w like the brightness|strong="H2096"\w* \w of the heavenly expanse|strong="H7549"\w*.

\q1 \w will be like the stars|strong="H3556"\w* \w forever|strong="H5769"\w* \w and ever|strong="H5703"\w*.

\v 7  \w Then I heard|strong="H8085"\w* \w the|strong="H0853"\w* \w man|strong="H0376"\w* \w clothed|strong="H3847"\w* \w in linen|strong="H0906"\w* \w who was over|strong="H4605"\w* \w the waters|strong="H4325"\w* \w of the river|strong="H2975"\w* \w as he raised|strong="H7311"\w* \w both his right|strong="H3225"\w* \w and left hands|strong="H8040"\w* \w to|strong="H0413"\w* \w the sky|strong="H8064"\w* \w and made an oath|strong="H7650"\w* \w by the one who lives|strong="H2416"\w* \w forever|strong="H5769"\w*\w : “It is for|strong="H3588"\w* \w a time, times|strong="H4150"\w*, \w and half|strong="H2677"\w* \w a time|strong="H4150"\w*. \w Then, when|strong="H3615"\w* \w the power|strong="H3027"\w* \w of the one who shatters|strong="H5310"\w* \w the holy|strong="H6944"\w* \w people|strong="H5971"\w* \w has been exhausted|strong="H3615"\w*, \w all|strong="H3605"\w* \w these|strong="H0428"\w* \w things will be finished|strong="H3615"\w*.”

\v 9  \w He said|strong="H0559"\w*, \w “Go|strong="H1980"\w*, \w Daniel|strong="H1840"\w*. \w For|strong="H3588"\w* \w these matters are closed|strong="H5640"\w* \w and sealed|strong="H2856"\w* \w until|strong="H5704"\w* \w the time|strong="H6256"\w* \w of the end|strong="H7093"\w*.  
\v 10  \w Many|strong="H7227"\w* \w will be purified|strong="H1305"\w*, \w made clean, and refined|strong="H6884"\w*, \w but the wicked|strong="H7563"\w* \w will go on being wicked. None|strong="H3605"\w* \w of the wicked|strong="H7563"\w* \w will understand|strong="H0995"\w*, \w though the wise|strong="H7919"\w* \w will understand|strong="H0995"\w*.  
\v 11  \w From the time|strong="H6256"\w* \w that the daily|strong="H8548"\w* \w sacrifice is removed|strong="H5493"\w* \w and the abomination|strong="H8251"\w* \w that causes desolation|strong="H8074"\w* \w is set|strong="H5414"\w* \w in place,|strong="H8673"\w* there \w are|strong="H3117"\w* 1,290 \w days|strong="H3117"\w*.  
\v 12  \w Blessed|strong="H0835"\w* \w is the one who waits|strong="H2442"\w* \w and attains|strong="H5060"\w* \w to the 1,335|strong="H2568"\w* \w days|strong="H3117"\w*.  
\v 13  \w But you|strong="H0859"\w* \w should go|strong="H1980"\w* \w your way|strong="H7093"\w* until \w the|strong="H3117"\w* \w end|strong="H7093"\w*. \w You will rest|strong="H5117"\w* \w and then at the end|strong="H7093"\w* \w of the days|strong="H3117"\w* \w you will arise|strong="H7093"\w* \w to receive|strong="H7093"\w* \w what|strong="H7093"\w* \w you have been allotted|strong="H1486"\w*.”
