\v 14 \w As|strong="G5613"\w* \w obedient|strong="G5218"\w* \w children|strong="G5043"\w*, \w not|strong="G3361"\w* fashioning yourselves according \w to|strong="G4964"\w* the \w former|strong="G4386"\w* \w lusts|strong="G1939"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w your|strong="G5216"\w* \w ignorance|strong="G0052"\w*:  
\v 15 \w But|strong="G0235"\w* \w as|strong="G2596"\w* he which hath \w called|strong="G2564"\w* \w you|strong="G5209"\w* is \w holy|strong="G0040"\w*, \w so|strong="G2532"\w* \w be|strong="G1096"\w* \w ye|strong="G0846"\w* \w holy|strong="G0040"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* manner of \w conversation|strong="G0391"\w*;  
\v 16 \w Because|strong="G1360"\w* it is \w written|strong="G1125"\w*, Be \w ye|strong="G1096"\w* \w holy|strong="G0040"\w*; \w for|strong="G3754"\w* \w I|strong="G1473"\w* \w am|strong="G1510"\w* \w holy|strong="G0040"\w*.  
\v 17 \w And|strong="G2532"\w* \w if|strong="G1487"\w* ye call \w on|strong="G1941"\w* the \w Father|strong="G3962"\w*, \w who|strong="G3588"\w* without respect of \w persons|strong="G0678"\w* \w judgeth|strong="G2919"\w* according \w to|strong="G2596"\w* every \w man’s|strong="G1538"\w* \w work|strong="G2041"\w*, \w pass|strong="G0390"\w* the \w time|strong="G5550"\w* of \w your|strong="G5216"\w* \w sojourning|strong="G3940"\w* \add here\add* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w fear|strong="G5401"\w*:  
\v 18 Forasmuch as ye \w know|strong="G1492"\w* \w that|strong="G3754"\w* ye \w were|strong="G3084"\w* \w not|strong="G3756"\w* \w redeemed|strong="G3084"\w* with corruptible \w things|strong="G5349"\w*, \add as\add* \w silver|strong="G0694"\w* \w and|strong="G2228"\w* \w gold|strong="G5553"\w*, \w from|strong="G1537"\w* \w your|strong="G5216"\w* \w vain|strong="G3152"\w* \w conversation|strong="G0391"\w* \add received\add* by tradition from your \w fathers|strong="G3970"\w*;  
\v 19 \w But|strong="G0235"\w* with the \w precious|strong="G5093"\w* \w blood|strong="G0129"\w* of \w Christ|strong="G5547"\w*, \w as|strong="G5613"\w* of a \w lamb|strong="G0286"\w* without \w blemish|strong="G0299"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* without \w spot|strong="G0784"\w*:  
\v 20 Who \w verily|strong="G3303"\w* was \w foreordained|strong="G4267"\w* \w before|strong="G4253"\w* the \w foundation|strong="G2602"\w* of the \w world|strong="G2889"\w*, \w but|strong="G1161"\w* was \w manifest|strong="G5319"\w* \w in|strong="G1909"\w* these \w last|strong="G2078"\w* \w times|strong="G5550"\w* \w for|strong="G1223"\w* \w you|strong="G5209"\w*,  
\v 21 \w Who|strong="G3588"\w* \w by|strong="G1223"\w* \w him|strong="G0846"\w* do \w believe|strong="G4100"\w* \w in|strong="G1519"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w*, \w that|strong="G3588"\w* \w raised|strong="G1453"\w* \w him|strong="G0846"\w* \w up|strong="G1453"\w* \w from|strong="G1537"\w* the \w dead|strong="G3498"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w gave|strong="G1325"\w* \w him|strong="G0846"\w* \w glory|strong="G1391"\w*; \w that|strong="G5620"\w* \w your|strong="G5216"\w* \w faith|strong="G4102"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w hope|strong="G1680"\w* might \w be|strong="G1511"\w* \w in|strong="G1519"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w*.  
\v 22 Seeing ye have \w purified|strong="G0048"\w* \w your|strong="G5216"\w* \w souls|strong="G5590"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* \w obeying|strong="G5218"\w* the \w truth|strong="G0225"\w* \w through|strong="G1223"\w* the \w Spirit|strong="G4151"\w* \w unto|strong="G1519"\w* \w unfeigned|strong="G0505"\w* love of the \w brethren|strong="G5360"\w*, \add see that ye\add* \w love|strong="G0025"\w* one \w another|strong="G0240"\w* \w with|strong="G1537"\w* a \w pure|strong="G2513"\w* \w heart|strong="G2588"\w* \w fervently|strong="G1619"\w*:  
\v 23 Being born \w again|strong="G0313"\w*, \w not|strong="G3756"\w* \w of|strong="G1537"\w* \w corruptible|strong="G5349"\w* \w seed|strong="G4701"\w*, \w but|strong="G0235"\w* of \w incorruptible|strong="G0862"\w*, \w by|strong="G1223"\w* the \w word|strong="G3056"\w* of \w God|strong="G2316"\w*, which \w liveth|strong="G2198"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w abideth|strong="G3306"\w* \w for|strong="G1519"\w* \w ever|strong="G0165"\w*.  
\v 24 \w For|strong="G1360"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* \w flesh|strong="G4561"\w* \add is\add* \w as|strong="G5613"\w* \w grass|strong="G5528"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w all|strong="G3956"\w* the \w glory|strong="G1391"\w* of \w man|strong="G0444"\w* \w as|strong="G5613"\w* the \w flower|strong="G0438"\w* of \w grass|strong="G5528"\w*. The \w grass|strong="G5528"\w* \w withereth|strong="G3583"\w*, \w and|strong="G2532"\w* the \w flower|strong="G0438"\w* \w thereof|strong="G0846"\w* falleth \w away|strong="G1601"\w*:  
\v 25 \w But|strong="G1161"\w* the \w word|strong="G4487"\w* of the \w Lord|strong="G2962"\w* \w endureth|strong="G3306"\w* \w for|strong="G1519"\w* \w ever|strong="G0165"\w*. \w And|strong="G1161"\w* \w this|strong="G5124"\w* \w is|strong="G2076"\w* the \w word|strong="G4487"\w* \w which|strong="G3588"\w* by the gospel is \w preached|strong="G2097"\w* \w unto|strong="G1519"\w* \w you|strong="G5209"\w*.

\v 10 \w Which|strong="G3588"\w* in time \w past|strong="G4218"\w* \add were\add* \w not|strong="G3756"\w* a \w people|strong="G2992"\w*, \w but|strong="G1161"\w* \add are\add* \w now|strong="G3568"\w* the \w people|strong="G2992"\w* of \w God|strong="G2316"\w*: \w which|strong="G3588"\w* \w had|strong="G1653"\w* \w not|strong="G3756"\w* obtained \w mercy|strong="G1653"\w*, \w but|strong="G1161"\w* \w now|strong="G3568"\w* have obtained \w mercy|strong="G1653"\w*.

\v 11 Dearly \w beloved|strong="G0027"\w*, I \w beseech|strong="G3870"\w* \add you\add* \w as|strong="G5613"\w* \w strangers|strong="G3941"\w* \w and|strong="G2532"\w* \w pilgrims|strong="G3927"\w*, \w abstain|strong="G0567"\w* from \w fleshly|strong="G4559"\w* \w lusts|strong="G1939"\w*, \w which|strong="G3748"\w* \w war|strong="G4754"\w* \w against|strong="G2596"\w* the \w soul|strong="G5590"\w*;  
\v 12 \w Having|strong="G2192"\w* \w your|strong="G5216"\w* \w conversation|strong="G0391"\w* \w honest|strong="G2570"\w* \w among|strong="G1722"\w* the \w Gentiles|strong="G1484"\w*: \w that|strong="G2443"\w*, \w whereas|strong="G1722"\w* they speak \w against|strong="G2635"\w* \w you|strong="G5216"\w* \w as|strong="G5613"\w* \w evildoers|strong="G2555"\w*, they \w may|strong="G1392"\w* \w by|strong="G1537"\w* \add your\add* \w good|strong="G2570"\w* \w works|strong="G2041"\w*, which they shall \w behold|strong="G2029"\w*, \w glorify|strong="G1392"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w in|strong="G1722"\w* the \w day|strong="G2250"\w* of \w visitation|strong="G1984"\w*.

\v 13 Submit \w yourselves|strong="G5293"\w* to \w every|strong="G3956"\w* \w ordinance|strong="G2937"\w* of \w man|strong="G0442"\w* \w for|strong="G1223"\w* the \w Lord’s sake|strong="G2962"\w*: whether it \w be|strong="G1535"\w* to the \w king|strong="G0935"\w*, \w as|strong="G5613"\w* \w supreme|strong="G5242"\w*;  
\v 14 \w Or|strong="G1535"\w* unto \w governors|strong="G2232"\w*, \w as|strong="G5613"\w* unto them that are \w sent|strong="G3992"\w* \w by|strong="G1223"\w* \w him|strong="G0846"\w* \w for|strong="G1519"\w* the \w punishment|strong="G1557"\w* of \w evildoers|strong="G2555"\w*, \w and|strong="G1161"\w* for the \w praise|strong="G1868"\w* of them that do \w well|strong="G0017"\w*.  
\v 15 \w For|strong="G3754"\w* \w so|strong="G3779"\w* \w is|strong="G2076"\w* the \w will|strong="G2307"\w* of \w God|strong="G2316"\w*, that with well \w doing|strong="G0015"\w* ye may put to \w silence|strong="G5392"\w* the \w ignorance|strong="G0056"\w* of \w foolish|strong="G0878"\w* \w men|strong="G0444"\w*:

\v 16 \w Yet|strong="G1161"\w* \w if|strong="G1487"\w* \add any man suffer\add* \w as|strong="G5613"\w* a \w Christian|strong="G5546"\w*, let \w him|strong="G0153"\w* \w not|strong="G3361"\w* be \w ashamed|strong="G0153"\w*; \w but|strong="G1161"\w* let him \w glorify|strong="G1392"\w* \w God|strong="G2316"\w* \w on|strong="G1722"\w* \w this|strong="G5129"\w* \w behalf|strong="G3313"\w*.
